It might be the plane. You can check the Aircraft.cfg under [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] and see what it says there.
http://www.airliners.net says the empty weight for the A340-200 should be 277,775. And if you know the correct ZFW, then you should also be able to change it
here.
