Stupid me, I didn't think to try any other airports--I always start my flights at my "home" airport. (And the only way to get my plane
back "home" is to fly it there-just like real GA pilots!) I did some expirementing and here's what I discovered:
It doesn't seem to matter if the airport has an AFCAD file or not. I looked in the scenery directories to make sure. Of the 6 airports I tried,
this error occurs only at my home airport. At other airports with known AFCAD add-on files, everything went fine. I discovered what the
error is, though. As long as the aircraft is parked at a gate or ramp parking, it's ok. If my aircraft is outside the bounds of a gate or parking
spot then FS insists that I move to one particular parking spot before I can begin the flight. Just for fun, I used AFCAD to create a new
gate far away from everything else and parked my plane there, then started FSP. Everything went fine. So I guess the solution is to make
sure the aircraft is parked within the bounds of a gate or ramp parking area.
samiranks, thanks for your help and suggestion!
