That can also be a typical fuel flow problem, like Project Airbus are eating fuel like hell, in aircraft.cfg there should be a GeneralEngineData"
section, I will make a exemple of the DC-8:

DC-8 aircraft.cfg

[GeneralEngineData]
engine_type= 1
Engine.0= -16.510, -44.140, -4.490
Engine.1= -7.490, -25.600, -6.950
Engine.2= -7.490, 25.600, -6.950
Engine.3= -16.510, 44.140, -4.490
fuel_flow_scalar= 1.000 <-------------- (Project Airbus has it above 1.0) You just need to change that 1.0 to lower, like 0.89134.......
min_throttle_limit=-0.30
