How about you guys just answer the OP question?
A capable alternative to fspax is fscapatin. It doesn't simulate economics, but neither does FSPax, at least using a realistic model. Also,
FSCaptain is still in active development; updates are released regularly. If you choose, you can use the two programs together. Another option is
Air Hauler....take a look at those two options and see if they meet your needs.
