I don't post on here much, but one things that's helped me tremendously, it learning where the actual center of the plane is when its on the runway.
Each plane is a bit different, but taxiing often enough gives you some good practice. Try to line your nose gear up with a specific line and see what
it looks like from the cockpit.
The biggest problem I've had learning visual landings is centering the runway. Practice on small planes doesn't always work since the cockpit
perspectives are different, but from a mile or two out, if you think of the runway as being one of those taxiway lines you practiced centering, it
should be easier to figure out where your plane will end up going.
Another method I used to practice with jets is to land using the autopilot and ILS approach a few times, then go to the same airport and try a visual
landing. Just line yourself up the same way the autopilot did and use some of the same landmarks on your approach.
Things like throttle, flaps and flare can be practiced easily enough using an ILS approach, so I assume those aren't areas your having an issue with?
