I would suggest that you practise with smaller aircrafts first. Jets are fast and takes more skill to master.

I understand you like to fly the jet aircrafts, but I'm sure that it will enhance ur flying experience, once your actually feel in control of the aircraft and
know how to make adjustments on the way according to how the plane behaves.

Did you try the lessons in fsx?

Last thing, dont be afraid to go around. If you are not steady and ready for landing at about 500ft, you should go around and try one more time.
