looking back to the first post, no you can't choose your rank, however if you want to start with a certain aircraft and work your way up, I suggest
creating a scenario with career mode off and just enough money to buy the CRJ, with an extra few thousand [whatever currency] spare in
case of any accidents/ emergencies. You make a lot of money from jets so its best if you put the income multiplier lower or prices to low/ very
low if you want a good few flights before upgrading to a larger aircraft, in your case the MD-83. What you have to also be aware of is because
the MD-83 is out of production, you will need money for extra repairs as the aircraft will be used with lots of flying hours already.
This is how one of my scenarios; (not how i usually stick to the same manufacturers as you fly better with more points in cockpits your used
to.)
C1)C206 [Carenado]
C3)C414 Chancellor [PAD, freeware]
C4)Pier Cheyenne IIXL [Digital Aviation] (didnt aquire till C5 as cost £2.5mil)
C6)Super HS-748/ BAe748 [by Rick Piper, freeware, amazing british classic]
BAe ATP [BSMP, another great freeware]
ATR-72 [Flight 1]
PMDG 737-800
(although smaller, now testing Feelthere E-Jets V2, awaiting paintkit)
