I think that perhaps one thing we should consider in all this, is how 'active' the moderators are. There are nine (9) forum moderators including Dan, of which, in my limited time here (nearing a year I think) Joe, Sky and Tracker have been the most prominent in terms of actually being around on the forums, but yes, I have seen the others post/appear in the "who's online" section. Granted most of us have day-jobs and I certainly don't expect the mods to hover on the forums 24/7. I'm not saying that any of the mods should be changed here though - not even the mods know everything, as one has already admitted here.
When I joined, I liked the fact that it's an everyone helped everyone else forum regardless of them being a mod or not, which in many ways is a good thing, assuming that you've done all the research you can before posting a problem etc.. Although Google, and other search engines aren't perfect (which should be something else to consider) there have been times when questions asked have yielded good results when Google or whichever search engine used hasn't. I think I posted a topic on here a while back about Saitek's rudder pedals after doing a Google search and a search of their forums, knowing that in a community such as this with many real life pilots, the chances of someone else having the same kit were high; unfortunately no-one could help with the solution, but I've kept searching the Saitek forums and typing it into Google from time to time, and yesterday, yes yesterday I got a hit after maybe 6 months of searching, and the hit was a Saitek forum post from 2007! Sufficed to say that I felt foolish when that hit finally showed up in Google, when it hadn't on the Saitek forums.
As for the reptitive questions Sky mentions, yes we all, esp' us regular posters get irked when the questions are repetitive and are simple - honestly look up an ex poster here who went by the names: planman009, towerman, and alpha-bravo-charlie; if you start crying and
then you'll know how some of us felt.
