Quote:Right guys, the company who is offering to produce the scenery is BluePrints.
http://www.blueprintsimulations.com/index.htm
They have agreed to produce two packages
Firstly - EIDW with a cost of 15 dollars - Around €11 (FS9 / FSX)
Secondly - EICK and EINN (dual pack) with a cost of 15 dollars - Around €11 (FS9 / FSX)
Immediately I know everybody is going to be saying ..... it's not as nice as Aerosoft or UK2000 but all the airport detail and terminal
buildings will be built to an exact scale.
It will be a hell of a lot better than any default scenery we have, yes it won't be as pretty as some out there but for once we in Ireland will
have a real replica of our airports for an extremely attractive price
From their website
BluePrint's Design Philosophy
BluePrint Simulations was born from the desire to share our vision of what a simulator airport scenery should be from a pilot's point of
view. Contributions from groups like PMDG, FeelThere, PSS and LevelD have taken the flight experience to an unbelievable degree of
realism and accuracy that any pilot can appreciate. Groups like SimFlyers, SimWings and Aerosoft, FlyTampa, Imagine and many others
have taken the ground experience to a new level also, providing increasingly realistic environments for the pilots to enjoy while on the
ground. From the early days of simFlyer's "Service Armada", their vision has diverged from our own as they have paid increasing attention
to moving vehicles and animations that make the airport come alive. As a pilot, however, I felt the need for increased realism in the airport
itself, from runway and taxiway location to the look and feel of terminals and other building."
"Currently, our products do not offer animated jetways (jet bridges) or service vehicles. We do not expect this fact to change in the near
future. Animated jetways and vehicles are not a priority in our designs. We rather dedicate precious system resources to achieving the
highest possible level of detail regarding essential airport features and graphic accuracy. With over eighteen (18) years of flight simulator
experience, we consider our knowledge of flight simulator scenery add-ons to be excellent. We have purchased and experienced products
from every single developer that has ever published their work as well as most developers that have kindly offered their products as
freeware. We know exactly how our products compare to other products, including artistic quality, technical accuracy, and product features.
We are quite aware that our sceneries lack some animated features and, in most cases, they are incompatible with default versions of
such animated features (specifically animated vehicles and jetways in FSX). If such features are critical to you, please select sceneries by
other developers that may be more likely to satisfy your wishes"
From their owner in a mail to me
"It is an honor that you have thought of us as an option to produce FS sceneries of the main Irish airports. After completing some
preliminary research I believe that I can create sceneries with quality and level of detail similar to or better than the ones that I have
produced so far for the North and South American airports. Furthermore, I am currently in a position that would enable me to complete the
three airports before the end of the year. I would release two sceneries at US$ 15 each, one for Dublin and another containing both
Shannon and Cork"
Also I urge any of you to load their free scenery from their website, have a good look at the default first and then load it in
http://www.blueprintsimulations.com/BluePrint_TBPB.htm
Their website contains lots of information and on the front page you can see a video showcasing their scenery.
Before we start to form opinions, please consider this is the only company who has shown some real intention
The easy thing is to say "No" immediately, "I don't think it's good enough" etc etc
Personally I would be quite happy to use their scenery and speaking to a few others who helped in the campaign they would be too but I
need more than one or two indications.
I appreciate not everybody is going to voice an opinion but between VATEIR AND ALVA and one or two more sites, I am hoping to gauge a
reaction so I can relay this information back to Blueprints and then they will decide if it's worth while working on.
FYI - A few reviews I have found on the internet regarding their software

Just one last thing to add .... I know one or two were inquiring if it would be AES supported, unfortunately it will not be.
