But its still not working - one of the frequencies I tried is the default 118.00 but nothing. It might be this airplane though.

Dude, if ur flying any addon like LVL D or PMDG/WILCO you have to turn your volume on on the COMM panel-on Boeings it's the tiny knobs
beneath the radios and MIC selectors-on the PMDG/LVLD they should light up when u click them-they have a little arrow for volume "level"
