I agree enterely with you... now programatically how do I do this ? most peoples will start with common newbies aircraft DR420 and such
wich require for the most part flaps... FsPX now detect aircraft that don't have flaps (rotor craft balloon) and you will not be penalised, for
other that have flaps again most of them require them at take-off.
Even a 60%-40% rate would require a default "on" setting... If you can provide a database with all world aircraft past and present and can
link them with those available for FsX using only their name I'm your man for a 100% accurate flap detection.
On aircraft that *have* flaps I think the rate is really more than 60/40... (for other it's not a problem)
Payload model is not a solution, only 5% of all world aircraft have at best a payload model (1%?)
