XP is stable, fast, never problems. All qualities Vista is lacking
It has some visual stuff and that's about it for the good news. The bad news is,
well, the rest of the OS And yes, even when you're logged in as admin you need to run as admin because vista doesn't trust you 
Don't get it for DX10, read the forums everywhere and you will find out what catastrophic effects that has on FSX
