what do you do on long flights (over 3 hours ... up to 7 or 10 hours)

Time accelaration is the only way, i use it on short and long flights.

However there is an ATC issue

1 - If using FSX Atc, dont tune anymore centres after your dapature centre hands you over, so when depature says, contact so and so,
acknowledge, but dont contact. This means you dont have atc running at x times acceleration in flight.


2 - Or just get Radar Contact Addon and use an ATc that allows you to use time acceleration, while it operates at normal speed.


I am usually but not always board, just before decsent starts, so i use time aceeleration all the time.

Another trick for long flights and time acceleration is
Set moderate speed like 300 KTAS and Climb really high like 35000 and above so you can use 16x acceleration without the danger of
weather bumping your plane at 16X
