My friend and I have a round the world competition going with a number of additional rules in place outside those of FSP. We started the
competition with $80M- enough to buy a good medium sized airliner to get the airline going. As I traveled around for some time, I always
made sure that I kept enough cash on hand to be able to replace the largest aircraft in my fleet, brand new. I initially bought a 767-300,
which used up the overwhelming majority of my cash. And thus, i didn't make any purchases till I had at least another $100M in the bank.
Granted with that aircraft, you make a considerable amount more than $300K per flight. :-D As my airline grew larger, which it did rather
quick, I allowed my finances to drop lower, but I also had a number of aircraft to keep flying should one go down (and they did...in
Baghdad especially). I still attempt to keep atleast $50M-$100M on hand however, just in case It actually doesn't even matter now
though, I just had to reinstall FS, and in the process I renamed all of my addon aircraft- because FSP would recognize the plane as not
being owned by my airline, I had to sell all of my planes off...my airline now has no aircraft, but it does have 1.5 BILLION dollars in cash
on hand wonder what I can get with that?
