I found reinstalling FS greatly improved my stability problem. I would like to add a slight detail into the process of uninstallation if it may
be of valid help.
After you're saved the precious FSP files to a save place on your drive go to uninstall FS9.
Now, if you go to Windows Explorer and look into the directory of the C:/ drive Program Files =>Microsoft games => etc... you might still
see a folder for FS9. Go ahead and delete it as it may be carrying some left over bits of the program.
After this folder is removed reinstall FS9. This should provide a perfectly clean and perfect program.
What I did then next was to install FSP. Activate it. Past back in the precious database files. and then I remembered to install the FS9 9.1
update. I did read on the official 9.1 update page that FS9 can become problematic if the FS9.exe file is tampered with after the update is
installed. I figured it was best to install this patch last, after the FSP.
I've been having beautiful error free flights ever since I did this and hopefully it'll do the same for you too.
I agree....reinstallation of FS9 only takes about an hour to perform.
