It's not just the turbulence effects you have to turn down a bit...updraft/downdraft scale has to be lowered as well to make it bearable for some folks who use FsP. In real life sometimes heavy clear air turbulence can and does happen. Flying near thunderstorms can create very heavy turbulence, so expect the aircraft to get flopped around quite a bit. Paxs will scream and be very unsatisfied at that point.
But, if you think things should be calm based on the weather snapshot at that particular moment, you can disable the turbulence near thunderstorms option...as this one overrides any turbulence setting (including updrafts/downdrafts) you have in AS2016. I prefer to have this one disabled.
