I fly this plane all the time... you set the pitch command switch on the AP panel to make it climb or descend. The pitch command knob is
related directly to the position of the flight director on the artificial horizon. You can set it to a climb position even on the ground and after
takeoff lift the nose to the position of the FD, engage the autopilot and it will hold that attitude. When levelling off at cruise altitude always
reduce the climb rate to about 300fpm otherwise it will porpois out of control trying to level off.
