I use Paint shop to work on the psd file. the big advantage is that you work on several layers with partial transparencies. Which can gives bery nice
result for bolts, joins, dither and shading.
Then, if the LDS or PMDG are not provided with a conversion tool, you must save the result in standard BMP and use DXTBMP from http://fly.to/mwgfx to
convert into BMP 32 files.
A little search in the forum with the keyword DXTBMP (sorry Brad for the copyright
) will provide some informations. Also, have a go there
