I still disagree that Athlon XPs should be used. Sorry. I have plenty of experience with computers too and especially with Athlon XPs! The Athlon 64
is better not because of the "64-bit" stuff but because of the increased cache, SSE 2 support, increased bus speed. The 200mhz FSB on athlon XP's
really hindered their performance I feel.
So I would still recommend Athlon 64 processors but not XPs. Athlon 64's are cheap, WHY would you want a mobile Athlon 2500xp? They are for laptops,
who cares if you can overclock them, they still have that awful limited front side bus and the 64-bit one is not only cheap as well but is proofed for
the future of computing AND has a much faster bus system, and SSE 2 instruction set support!
Athlon XP 1900, 2200, 2500, 2800, had all those before didn't last long. I had lower frames per second with the same graphics card as I have now on my current computer. That speaks for itself really. Athlon 64 is the answer, let there be no argument about it. Nobody cares how good Athlon XPs were/are at gaming they are in the past. Lower clocked Athlon 64's are cheap, and I'm not recommending them because of anything to do with their 64 bit capabilities but because of the other improvements mentioned previously. Understand?
