-Steam is about to release a new patch for FSX-SE (build 610) which will solve a lot of CTD happening with terrain.dll. The good news is that I'm
testing also FsPassengers on this beta and it will be compatible at release.
-The beta of FsPassengers showed no dramatic issues, some bugs of course but nothing that can't be solved.

I spent the last few hours making a tools that test almost all critical functions of FsPassengers in two minutes.



Previously I had to rely on manual testing of my functions, one by one which is very long and hazardous or on beta tests which may be
hazardous also (A tester may never need a function that would have crashed on his computer for example. This is the case for example with rare
failures, or special flight case).

This tool will only be available with the beta but it will speed up a lot the patch process for any new release of FSX-SE.

Hi Dan,

Can't wait for a SE compatible version Of FSPX.

I can only speak for myself, but I would be happy to pay for FSPX via Steam (even though I have I registered copy of the existing FSX version). Development of good
software shouldn't break the Dev.

Whichever way you go, I for one am grateful.

Sorry, I'm enthusiast tonight

I did found a way to create the mini report without using a "hack" any-more (well, only a small and simple hack instead of a monstrous one). It will
be much more robust with the different versions, no more problems with PMDG and aircraft that have max windows (64). No more headache
trying to find the hack again on the different versions.

I didn't had a look at P3D yet, but this later development and the previous "check critical function" (see post above) make me much more
confident about an eventual P3D version of FsPassengersX.

Great to see Fspassengers under development again, no other program simulates economics of an airline like FSpax does.

There's one future feature I would love to see, that's flight restoration. Every now and then my FSX does some random stuff and crashes mid flight, usually on approach.
Some other programs allow flight restore from last save (I use FSUIPC's autosave but it works with regular save too). So when a crash happens I just restart FSX, load the
save, then restore the flight and my nerves are saved.

Looks like we'll have an early Prepar3d Christmas this year!

If I just may ask for a revised feature, I'd like to suggest a revision on the excessive rate of descent penalisation logic.
FsPax has passengers that are way too scared of descents above -4000ft/min. As we all know it isn't the rate of descent that scares the passengers. In
fact you can be descending at -8000ft/min and still fell 1G at the cabin, and everything will fell comfortable, except maybe a little higher "window
angle" when looking outside.
Sometimes (think about a late runway change on the approach) it is necessary to exceed -4000ft/min in a controlled normal descent, and FsPax always
subtracts some points to my logbook because of that.
It would be really nice if the threshold "scary" limit would be raised to perhaps -6000ft/min (I've never saw a non-emergency descent exceed that
value), or even better the limit logic being changed and connected with G's on the descent.

Take this just as an suggestion, either way the program is already great. Looking forward to the Prepar3d beta! Keep up the good work!

By the way, since we are talking about improvements, I know this has been discussed over the past, but let me just add my voice to those asking for the implementation of a medical emergency feature, requiring the in-flight diversion to the nearest suitable airport. It would be a lot of fun to do. You could even have a random clock countdown to get the plane on ground safely in order to have good chances of survival.
I know this would take a lot more code to be written, but I think it is a pity to miss this opportunity to add this emergency, since it is definitely one (if not the most) frequent in real life, and since you are already re-writing the code... :-)
Regarding the audio files, in my own personal opinion, I could live without them. A simple warning on the mini-report would be just enough to get me going to the nearest airport.

If you have the real text of this penalty I can make a search (I'm very busy), so I can ease it a bit.

This penalty depend of the altitude, as you approach ground the limit for penalty is raised.

Commercial aircraft's normal rate is around 1500-3500 FPM, no commercial aircraft do 8000 FPM in normal operation, ~3000 FPM was set for passengers comfort..

What about such formulae ? Attention the scale are not regular ! Altitude is in feet.

The result is the fear from 0 to 100 in the red zone (over 100) they scream. As you see -8000FPS is acceptable but not under 1250 feet
and they scream if if the descent rate is >-8000 FPS under 500 feet which seem normal.

Any comment / hint ? I can give any shape to the curve.

I must say I'm quite excited about the possibility of FSP for P3D (2.5+). Once I got over the dollar shock of going to P3D Professional (the only
legitimate option), I realized that this platform is the future of flight simming - especially since LM is actively working on a 64 bit version that potentially will lead to many improvements.

The thing I've missed most in P3D is not having FSP along for my airline flying. Getting FSP back will make my addiction to this hobby complete.
