-Good news: I'm refining some last stuffs but I think the beta test will start within 5 days maximum, maybe this week-end but no promise for that.

I'll post a public call for beta testers in this forum and on the home page, candidates will have to send me a mail with some required informations,
also for security concern I'll only accept customers with a valid serial code.

Hello!

It's really great news to see this software being developed again.

I've bought FsPax back in the days of FS2004. I've used it since then through FSX. It is one of the "must have" add ons (in my opinion) if not for all
other features, for the feature that I really love: random failures. It adds a real uncertainty to your flights that you can't have any other way. I
just love it.

But, as we all know, time marches on and so does our simulator hobby. Prepar3d came to fill the void left when Microsoft abandoned the market and by
now, a significant percentage of us, simmers, are using it. And it's great! Graphics never looked better, frames are smooth, we have lot's of new
features like cockpit shadows, dynamic sea waves, volumetric fog... and general backwards compatibility with most add ons from FSX.

However FsPassengers is still missing! And although our flights now are really enjoyable visually, we lack the uncertainty of a takeoff bird strike,
or a gear failure to keep our skill levels up! I mean... I wouldn't go back to FSX, but I REALLY miss FsPax.

So, Dan... let me just add my voice to those who ask for a Preapr3d version of FsPax. Think about it. Take your time, but please consider it. By now
you have the market for it in terms of simmer numbers and opportunity since no one ever came to fill the gap you left open by not porting your
software over to Prepar3d.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but it came from the heart. Cheers on your work. I'll be looking for hopefully more good news!

-Added "gear up" "gear down" announcement from copilot.
-Added per request crews announces playing also in external view (disabled by default)
-Still checking code and making a lot of refinements.
-Finally ran "code analysis" from visual studio 2012, this tool was not available in my Visual Studio 2005 used for the First FsPassengers and it
check the C++ code about possible errors.

Result: 33 warnings only on 80'000 lines of code !?? Wow ! I wasn't so bad at this time
Most of them were only false positive but I secured them all anyway. This doesn't mean my code is completely bug free, this is almost
impossible, but it's reasonably bug free.

I hear you and thanks for kind message.
The problem is that FsPassengers use a lot of "hack"***: direct call into assembly code of FsX that have to be found. This is a long and
difficult process. Either P3D is very similar to FsX and it might be "simple" either they have changed a lot of the code and it might be a
nightmare.

So once done with FsPassengersX update I'll have a look at P3D but no promise of success here.


*** Those "hack" are required because of features not available with SDK. For example modifying directly the number of payload points for an
aircraft, recalculating weight, adding dynamically fuel etc. etc.

I wish more software makers had your ethics and letting the base know what is going on. As far as P3D, I too would like to see a version for it, even
to the point I would be willing to pay for a P3D version. I'm sure others would like to see free, but your work is proving its worth!

This doesn't really affect me as I'm still using FS2004 and to think I bought FSPassengers back in 2010 for €29,97 after saving up for it so hard with
my pocket money, that's 5 years I've been using this brilliant program, it's just fantastic and served me well to this day.
Can't think what I would ever do with out it! And to think in that time I now fly in real life with a Spanish airline (based in Nantes) is quite something.

I just wanted to quickly stop by and say how genuinely glad I am to see development for it picking up again, I bought FSX Steam Edition the day it was
released but I've built FS2004 up so much, with so much time and money nothing beats it for me.
So once again Dan, good on you, really. Hands down, THE best addon for Flight Simulator, I'd go so far as to actually buy it again for what it's worth.

The main AC power failed in my region, fortunately I have my own portable home backup generator that is outside home just below my windows.
And here goes the fun: When I launch Flight simulator for test the generator's RPM goes up due to the higher demand in current.

Hi Dan,

I briefly scrolled through this thread, and couldn't find a direct answer for the following... Can you please elaborate if the general problems we are encountering with
FSPax in FSX, especially when flying PMDG aircraft will be sorted? Eg. The FsPax dialog boxes popping up creating the black screen, then resetting the sim, so to say
and eventually crashing FSX...

In FS2004 FsPAX was my lifeline, but due to stability problems I never really shared the same enthusiasm with the FSX version....
