DEV NEWS:

Don't be surprised if I don't post news during two days, I'm rewriting completely a section of code that I never was satisfied with.
This part is horribly complicated so instead of trying to fix it, I commented all the code and I restart from scratch.

I'll keep you informed.

2h after the last post I checked again online the "administrative"'s work and IT'S OKAY NOW !!!!
The next step for code signing certificate should be a breeze...

Dan, I was elected to participate in the beta test of new version of Fspassengers years ago. I still there? I dont have the steam version but I fly the vanilla version a lot.

I'm 20% done on the code that I have to redo (see previous post) before thinking about the first alpha. I would say, 5-6 days more for 100%, then fixing things here and there, than maybe the first alpha.

Don't expect a release the next week, but things are going well.

Hi, good job Dan!!!

I just would like to ask if someody is so clever to write an aplication or something what would give a posibility to fly with friend via shared
cockpit but with AI Traffic and AI ATC, something like single player mode but with shared cockpit.
I read lots of post about it but still it is not solved.
I know that we have VATSIM, for me its ok but for newbies is to complicated.
What do you think about that type of flying with friends?

mrfox, you should check out Majestic Softwares Q400. It's a bit pricey but it's probably the most accurate paid aircraft for FSX and comes with an excellent shared cockpit
feature.

Hi, thank you for answer but I am not looking for plane with shared cockpit but posibility how to generate AI traffic in shared cockpit sesion and
switch on ATC (built in or external).

That seems like something which would be very difficult to create. There are to many factors on which traffic
is generated within the game. Traffic density is set by each user in settings but many people also use custom traffic mods and many of the mods have the ability to import
custom schedules. I'm not a developer so maybe I am talking out of my ass but that seems like allot of work for a feature few people are very concerned about. If you do
end up finding a mod that delivers these features send me a pm and I'll give it a go with you.

During testing this posibility (shared cockpit with AI Traffic and auto ATC) on FSX deluxe edition wiht my bro, almost got positive result: Read more

Now I'm sad a bit because my programing skils ends on VB and basics of HTML CSS because to get this working some changes in FSX code are needed.

Here is another idea from another guy but I haven't tested it yet.

Why I have to tried to get this working so hard?
I only have over 10 friends witch would like to try FSX but they don't want to fly alone in plane. They are lazy a bit to read some hunderds of pages of manual etc. For them it would be faster and easier if somebody would show how to fly with ATC make SID and STAS proc.
I think there is much people like them, and if we would start to built our airline on FSP and fly together (shared cockpit) it would be amaznig.

What is more what I know. Radar Contact 4 is not generating AI Traffic. Traffic is generated by FSX and then RC4 is importing AI Trafic positions.It makes calculations and then somehow RC4 injects manuver instructions to AI Traffic in FSX. And now just to think a little if we would generate AI Traffic in Multi sesion and then use RC4 to aver proper interaction between all objects? But for this we need good coders and programers.
I sent the e-mail to DTG company with this idea, first time somebody answered that information has been passed to relevant people, and after one month I asked if this will be realized in the future, they answered that this posibility is implemented now and working ok in FSX Steam. So I tested some things but there is nothing!!! I asked them once more how to do it, but they pissed my off

DEV NEWS:

I bought a 2TB disk for backups. The 500GB was full.
-I cleaned and reorganised my whole dev environment so it fits entirely on my 15GB crypted disk. This virtual disk contain all my sources and
utilities and it follows me since years. Having all on it even my "dev center shortcuts" will ensure that I can start a future upgrade right out of
the box instead of trying to guess & collect resources that often have disappeared. (Case when you change the OS or a disk)

The new "Dev center": all shortcuts, utilities and helps to FsPx project: I can access everything from here.


-Fixed and signed all utilities and dll, I had to be sure that they all use the same compilation parameters and that all texts , dialogs and path are
okay.
-While doing this, I saw that one utilities ("utility/AircraftBrowser" ) was completely broken, impossible to make it work with V2012 library, I had
to restart a project from scratch, it works now.

All utilities are now ready for first test.

TODO: (At least before the first alpha release)

-Code rewrite for the protection so it's much more robust (20% done).
-Discovered one small bug: some slight framerate drop during crew's announces. The cpl's announces don't have this bug, so it should be easy to fix.

My personal opinion is that such software look like a cool idea on the paper, but in practice it's a different story. There is not much to do in the same simulator cockpit and flying even 35mn just to see your friend land the beast while you did press 3 buttons might be more boring than expected. Such soft would require a lot of work and I'm not convinced by the gameplay's added value.

Some planes are rated for 2 pilots and have separate checklists for pilot and copilot. It's nice having someone manipulating the controls while the other works nav and
radios. I agree this feature would be useless in most general aviation aircraft but if your flying one of the FSX paid airliners such as the Q400, A330, or 737-800 it would
be an awesome feature.

DEV NEWS:

-Bug solved: Framerate lag when a crew's announce text is displayed on screen.

-Now the installer check also the version and warn you if it's a downgrade. This will be usefull for future update.
The setups will have the release date included in the filename so it's easy to not confuse version. (eg: FsPassengersX_Setup_20150223.exe)

(texts will be corrected if there is a typo)
