Sorry for asking this, but are there any alternatives to FSPassengers?

Every flight I go through goes perfectly smooth, until I have to land. Since not all airports have ILS and I suck at visuals, I end up crashing the
plane 80% of the time. Now, this would be fine and all if there was a "checkpoint" system or something like that, but there isn't, so to try again
I have to go through the flight all over again.

So, are there any alternatives to FSP that enables saving mid flight, or saves moments before landing? I installed a Autosave addon, but
when it re-loads the save, FSP is not running, and I can't start FSP mid flight. Or even something that would allow me to start FSP mid flight?

Yeah, I know it could be considered cheating but I don't care. I'd rather have a good experience while cheating rather than having a subpar
experience and playing legitimately.

Unless you are using a scenario that is "Instant Record" you don't have to save a bad flight. Think of FSP as an instructor pilot giving you a
check ride, use it as a tool to learn and hone your skills. Fly shorter flights and practice, practice practice. This too will come in time.

The problem really isn't Instant Record. The problem is that after every crash I have to start the flight ALL OVER again. I tried practicing
landing before, but I never seem to get it right. If there's no ILS, I don't know how to keep on the glide slope, not all runways have those lights
telling you if you're on the right altitude.

Just now, I tried landing a Learjet in 2VG2 (that's the code for the airport) and no matter how hard I tried, the aircraft ALWAYS ended up
overruning the runway.

Just tried a few flights, crashed on 3 of 4 landings. Really though, I can't afford to restart flights after every crash. I think FSPassengers is a
nice addition, because I can start my own airline and stuff like that and get warning sounds and build my way up, but I just suck at landings
and can't afford to retry every flight from the beginning.

Really wish there was some other alternative that would let me save mid flight

How about you learn how to fly properly?

I would suggest that you practise with smaller aircrafts first. Jets are fast and takes more skill to master.

I understand you like to fly the jet aircrafts, but I'm sure that it will enhance ur flying experience, once your actually feel in control of the aircraft and
know how to make adjustments on the way according to how the plane behaves.

Did you try the lessons in fsx?

Last thing, dont be afraid to go around. If you are not steady and ready for landing at about 500ft, you should go around and try one more time.

Practice baby, practice. Just take a plane up and do touch and gos to improve. It's actually pretty fun! That's how the real flight students learn. I
work right next to Deer Valley airport here in Phoenix, and I see dozens of student pilots "in the loop" every day doing just that.

I don't post on here much, but one things that's helped me tremendously, it learning where the actual center of the plane is when its on the runway.
Each plane is a bit different, but taxiing often enough gives you some good practice. Try to line your nose gear up with a specific line and see what
it looks like from the cockpit.

The biggest problem I've had learning visual landings is centering the runway. Practice on small planes doesn't always work since the cockpit
perspectives are different, but from a mile or two out, if you think of the runway as being one of those taxiway lines you practiced centering, it
should be easier to figure out where your plane will end up going.

Another method I used to practice with jets is to land using the autopilot and ILS approach a few times, then go to the same airport and try a visual
landing. Just line yourself up the same way the autopilot did and use some of the same landmarks on your approach.

Things like throttle, flaps and flare can be practiced easily enough using an ILS approach, so I assume those aren't areas your having an issue with?

The whole point of a flight simulator is to learn to fly in a realistic way. If you can't land at all, what you want is a game, not a simulator.

If you do want a simulator, start from the beginning. Every airplane will handle differently. Start with a small airplane to learn the basics. Take
the tutorial. There's plenty you can do.

If the weather conditions and lack of ILS prevent you from making a safe landing, the correct procedure is to land at an alternate airport. If the
weather is fine, you just need practice. And by practice I don't mean doing the same thing over and over. You also have to know what you're doing, and
why, trying to improve every time.

Like the others ay practice makes perfect. remember everyone here was new at one point. i shure as hell did not start out knowing how to land a 737
with -100fpm everytime.

You're joking right? FSX is nothing compared to flying a real 737 or any other airplane. It is a good try to be realistic, it isn't though. Not at all.

I guess you don't know what "realistic" means. I didn't say "real."

"Realistic" means it follows certain rules to make the SIMULATION work like the real world. All the basic principles of flight are programmed in, so,
for example, if you don't have enough lift, your aircraft will stall and crash.

But you're still sitting in front of a computer screen, so a "crash" doesn't kill you and hundreds of other people, nor does it cause millions in
damages. So, no, it's not "real."

Is it as realistic as a $1,000,000 simulator? No, and you didn't pay $1,000,000 for it. But it's much more realistic than a game.
