Thoughts on FSPassengers

Intro:

For an addon that was programed by 1 guy, it is absolutely STUNNING! FSPassengers every pilot have his/her way! You like commercial/airliners? GREAT! VERY realistic! Your a stunt pilot?
Put on a good show! Into sight seeing? Great program for you too! I personally and an airliner kind of guy. I am currently using FS passengers as I type this! ( I know, safe is'nt it! ) I am doing a
flight to KATL from KIAD and I can not wait to land, and see what my passengers thought!

Here we go:
FS Passengers provides me with the realism I have been looking for in Flight Sim 2004. I have used this addon for any and every flight I have done. You need to fly professionally and that is
exactly why I got it. I would like to be a pilot when I grow up, so this addon gets me very close to that dream. This addon gets it so perfect, that the creator even went to the nitty gritty! You must
turn off your landing lights above 10,000 and not go over 20 on a taxiway. You cant exceed 250 under 10,000 and so on. This addon, with PMDG/AirSimmer/Wilco, and VATSIM is a match made
in heaven! Want to push your skills? Try that combo! This addon features food, drink, and ticket price customization, and that is something I have always wanted to do, what set prices for my
own virtual airline! I can not believe how much fun I am having with it!

The good:
- Very Realistic
- Customizable
- You can create your own airline/pilot to YOUR specs
- PLENTY of downloads
- Compatible with 90% of aircraft in FS2004/FSX!
- Interactive
- Fun for any kind of pilot
- Offers a great deal of support
- Lets you start how you want to!

The bad:
- Hard setup. ( You may have to try more then 3 times to get something other then "Wrong Auth."
- Over sensitive passengers (They b***h ALOT if something is not perfect)
- Over sensitive aircraft ( Maybe just a bit rough on that touchdown, but you still blow a tire and skid off the runway, killing all your passengers.)

All in all:
Great addon, would recommend it with an 9.5 out of 10. If you have money, want realism, buy this, and a good aircraft. (Make sure to throw in that free subscription to VATSIM) and you have a
realistic flight.

Great job, rocked it!
Hope to see tons more downloads, and updates for FS2004, so it can be even cooler!

Thanks Jetliner,

As said somehwere in this forum I'll work on FsP04 & FsPX patch
in january, FsP04 version will be a minor patch just to correct the problems
(wrong auth) and maybe add one or two options.
FsPX will have also the most critical problem solved and maybe one or two things more.

Patch may be ready within one or three month depend the amount of work.
Once started I'll be more present on this forum as beta test will require
interactive test with those that have problems.

Hello Dan!

I am very honored to be talking to the man that created such a superior addon.

If I may, I would like to maybe throw a few things out there for a patch one day?

- More forgiving tires (Dont blow as easy with hard landings)
- Interactive Checklists? IDK if that is possible for the reason of Addons... but hey, it would be nice!
- A customizable cabin crew to pick what airline (United, Southwest, Frontier etc etc)
- Improved Cabin Crew Announcements

Thats all...lol

Now listen to me, a big talker, I hardly know how to program a phone, let alone a Flight Sim addon. So dont take those seriously, they would just be handy.
I hope that patch that comes out for FS2004 is soon, I am itching to get my hands on it already! Its glad to know you didnt forget about us ppl "stuck in the past".

PS: I forgot to mention, after going over your reply again I remembered I had a question.

What would it take for one like myself to become a beta tester, I have done alot of beta testing in the past, but never for such a great addon!

But I can't manage a list of candidate as they will maybe not be free when
I start beta test, so you have to check the forum from time to time and ask
to be part of it when it start.

I have to agree with the above posts. With FSPax, you learn to fly the planes the right way (as far as simming goes). It is more than just
plugging in a control pad, or what have you, and throttling up and whirling around.

What I like about it is Career mode. You are forced to start with the smaller a/c and gradually work your way up to the largest. It is like
taking baby steps. You start out small, learning the basics of flight and eventually you will work your way up to the larger and more
complicated a/c.

I still am in the Prop stage of my career, so I haven't learned about heavy landings with heavier a/c. My question is, are the tire blow outs
realistic to the FPM rates? Or did the programmers just come up with a number and say, 500 fpm (just picked a random number) is too
heavy?

The problem with simming is the lack of feed back. We simulate planes flying around exerting G forces in one direction or another; we
don't feel anything sitting in our barcaloungers, which adds to the difficulty of simming. Ever try the acrobatic missions and try not to
exceed a certain G level? In RL, the pilot would have an idea what is 2 G's, but with our numb controllers, it is hard to judge, which is my
point of landing hard. With my controller, I get a rumble if I land roughly. I don't recall what the numbers (FPM) were, but I have learned to
land the a/c with hardly a shake now. (I think anything less than 150fpm doesn't shake the controller at all). Sometimes I am not sure I
even landed (for just a sec) because of the lack of feed back. But without feedback, the simming pilot really doesn't know what a heavy
landing it.

Here is a suggestion regarding heavy landings. Let's say anything above 500fpm (just an arbitrary number to work with) is considered a
heavy landing. B747 and other heavy a/c have been designed to land at less than 500fpm. But in their designs, the standards the gear
have been built to I am sure meant to exceed that 500fpm limit. Let's say, the gear are designed to go to 150% ideal fpm, which would be
750fpm. You may have a heavy landing but anything exceeding 500fpm would require extra maintenance costs and anything exceeding
750fpm would result in a catastrophic failure. But, if the repairs are not done, the next time there is a heavy landing, maybe the rate of
excessive fpm would be 600fpm.

An idea would be a running total of fpm in excess of ideal fpm up to 150% until repairs are made. For example:

Ideal 500fpm, 150% tolerance. Allowed 250fpm before failure occurs at 750fpm.

Landing #1 600fpm, exceeded by 100 fpm, leaving a tolerance of 150fpm with failure happening at 650fpm
Landing #2 550fpm, exceeded by 50fpm, leaving a tolerance of only 100fpm with failire happening now at 600fpm

Now this Pilot/Company manager neglected in getting repairs done

Landing #3 700fpm, exceeded by 200fpm, exceeded tolerances by 100fpm resulting in catastrophic failure due to gear/tire failure.

This way, minor damage builds up on itself. As in real life, unlike the old adage, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, will come and bite you in the
rear.

Maybe the programmers already included this when they built the program. If they did, great! If they didn't, I hope they would.
