Downloading the fuel prices from the internet is a good idea, I think.
But landing taxes of each airport ist too diffiicult and it won´t be profitable.

Will FSPX able to calculate the virtual price of an not-fsx-default aircraft?
e.g. the Digital Aviation Piper Cheyenne, Carenado Mooney, Flight One Atr 72-500 etc.

Finding some sort of national average price of gas would be relatively easy, but specific to each airport? Good luck... And what's the point really,
changing by a few pennies here or there...

Maybe they want to add another piece of reality - airlines closing down because of increased fuel costs Hey, what about this: "Sorry no

Anyway, I don't think it's really necessary to take it that far....

The problem is data... find a database of 25'000 airport fuel price and taxe and I'm your man...


NEWS:

Beside of other features (less visual) I'm working yet on dialog banner... 71 banners to redo. "Why do he waste his time on such useless
stuff" would you ask ?

-First much peoples would rant to have the exact same visual, FsPX's point is not stunning graphism but why not some refresh ?

-The FsP04 system was a nightmare, I didn't planned to end with 71 dialog so every banner is drawed by photoshop and the bmp (yes
the image that take huge place) included in the DLL. The banners alone take more than 1 megabyte in DLL !

So, new system:
-ONE jpg banner on disk for every dialog.
-Title of dialog drawed dynamically.
-Will allow "banner" skin...
-1 megabyte less DLL, faster loading time, more place for other usefull stuff as sound etc. etc.

Win/win for a few hours work... (delete from dialog, add function to load banner, delete bmp from disk etc etc)

In brief an option will allow you to choose a "banner" skin. And you can add your own if you want. One picture worth thousand word here's

FsPassengers is already a "dozen in one" addon.

Some addons do failures, (no one do such complex as forcing your gear flaps, oil leak and some other for all aicraft)
Some addons do maps
Some do economic
Some addons do payload loader
Some do atc chatter
Some do key input for controlling aircraft
Some addons record and export your flight
Some addons have crew announce
no-one have such complex flight report
no-one have DCA explosion
no-one have belly landing (w/o gear)
no-one feature screaming or vomiting passengers (lol)
none have stunning cool great dialog banner skin (re-lol)

I may forgot some features...

Also each of those features above should be written and controlled... it's as if I was writting 10-15 addons with all problems that goes with
each one. All that for one of the cheaper price of the market: if I calculate the price of all addon that FsP feature I should sell it 340 euro.

But that would not stop me, when time come to give his last cloth for nothing I'm the first id.. one (lol) but fact is that online tracking is a "dangerous" feature, dozen of things can turn wrong so it cannot be written in one week nor in one month.

PS: don't underestimate, banner, 1.5 million byte saved in dll and package really worth one day of work.

There is a website tha has landing taxes and fuel prices that is used for actual flight plan filling. But I do not know what it is called.

Airnav.com has a database of fuel prices. Fltplan.com is a better one because the website looks more professional and if you are a real
FAA pilot you can file flight plans.

I think landing taxes should just be averaged out and set.

Fuel Should (IF possbile) be able to be updated
(perhaps per airport is a little much.... so perhaps per state? or country?)

Hi Dan!

All I can say is AMEN to that! I tried a few of them during my patient wait for FSPX.
Some of them are pretty good (FS-School) but way more cumbersome and restricted than what you are doing!

Would you allow us to modify the descent rate?

Meaning that I can go in the cfg. and change it so that my passengers dont start getting nervous when I get to 5000ft/m descent rate. In
Concorde its not uncommon to descend at far more then that and having to stay less then the 5000ft/m takes away from the overall experience.

Banner and cleaning completed, the dll is now down to 1.64 Mb instead of 3.6 Mb...

1'960'000 bytes saved (1.96mb)

Not too bad for one day...

It really would not matter what a website has listed for fuel prices because as a major operation we have established fuel contracts with
various vendors for discounted fuel. An airline, which is many times bigger then my little operation, buys fuel in bulk and saves a fortune
over what my organization pays. The person who pays the price listed on the website is the Part 91 private operator who flies in and
expects to get filled up, or an organization who flies in without a contract for that airport.

For a large fleet operating in an airline like environment you would look at the current average rate for Jet A then subtract about 30% from
that price due to the bulk fuel purchase agreement to average out the operating costs for an airline spread out over a large area. The
small operator is going to get much less of a discount, buying bulk saves money. Even our small operation if we have a fuel provider
contract we can save as much as 50% of the going rate at some airports, because we made an agreement to only purchase fuel from
one vendor.

As far as landing fees, gate charges, airport taxes, ect that gets handed right back to the passenger as additional costs. The airline
averages out these costs and places these expenses on top of the cost per seat mile. From a macro standpoint you really do not care
what the costs of JFK are opposed to BOS unless that airport was much higher than the airline average. In which case you send out your
hit team to go have a discussion with that airport manager.
