FsP World Tour - Season #2 (Leg #22 - 23)

Then, I had the big pleasure to make twice on line flight to Paro. Here are some views

Easy standard take off from VECC some still on ground getting ready



And others climbing ahead like rockets


Mid flight, no mountains in sight so far clouds all around


Slowly, the ground is climbing and I go descending, we should meet in one of these clouds around


In training flight before, the sky was more friendly


But today is another day



Rough but safe landing, I clear the runway and try to join the gate via the helipad... NEVER DO THIS HERE: building crash and return to
VECC


Second flight with Peter, and approach in complete mix of cloud and fog, some fuzzy dark shapes dancing around, a copilote totally
desesperated and suddenly the GPWS yelling 30 ! and a beautyfull tree just in front... full throttle and some dirty words saved us for a
second try. With a bit of luck those clouds will let us little hole to see the runway ?


I will soon know each trees by their nicknames


Peter's plane red label is quite an help


My copilot still don't like plane trekking


Neither like when his seat kicked his ass at some -540 fpm. Never satisfied...


Steering 100 feets away from anything on the ground, I get to the parking. I don't wait for the stairs and jump directly to join Peter at the
lounge. It was quite a day...

@HB-100: which of your two flights to you want to keep?

I liked this Paro airport so much that I flew into it two times last night. After first landing I had some minutes left
and didn't set parking brakes. While I was happily chatting, my ATR decided to check out the terminal from the
inside...
I got teleported to Calcutta where I found a swiss army knife from Embraer, so I could catch up on Pierre who
was waiting halfway down the route. It was his second go also, after he had hit a stealth chopper on the Paro
helipad. Clouds were nice enough to stay around 12000 ft, only Pierre had to go around once because of zero
visibility. Finally we made it safe and late with HB flying around us in a heli.

Didn't some of you flew the approach as in RL ? I mean between the mountains ? It is a really nice approach

It is a great approach.. you see the last mountain.. do your prayers and then dive into the valley and just hope that otto is not trying to pull
up because he doesn't like your dive

I just watched your video, Pierre. Great soundtrack, awful weather! You really like it the hard way, don't you?

Both of course. They are both of the same leg.
Hope you did not expect me to fly with one engine down to Paro.. my crazzyness has a limit.

You could try to merge the two reports into one (points and comment) or if this is not possible or too much work take the one to Paro only
to keep the fligth chain unbroken and skip the emergency.

It's your typical FS Multiplayer quality, without TrackIR but I think you'll enjoy it

LOL I had to laugh about the blacking out of my short at the end! I first thought it was Drew's name and a hidden (bit too strong) msg/joke.

Took 1 hour download time thought..not sure if it is that large in size or if my connection to there is that slow.

Thx for the landing, this one was in replay after training. I don't have the PIREP as I got a damned CTD just when switching back to taxi..

I am not that fond of hard way but with ASV6, the quickest is flying with current weather and a CAVOK sky is too boring. I see in your nice
pics that yo too prefere an "alive" sky

I must admit that this "banzai diving" following the slope down to the airport is quite adictive.

For Lukla, it might be different. if the visibility is too low or the wind too strong from west... I might cheat abit with the weather. I
don't see any chance to survive a missed approach on this place.

I think Photobucket is being slow again. the Source file is only 18Mb, and Photobucket doesn't half bring that down. The vid on the site only took a few minutes to load on my home connection and at uni. When I did
some shots of the 2nd FSX demo last summer, people were saying it took about half an hour to load 8 jpgs, others didn't have that problem.
Now I'm posting more movies I'm becoming more uncomfortable with how Youtube and Photobucket presents them, I would much rather have a
space where I can upload the source files for people to download onto their machine, not play in a window. Guess thats something for me to do over the
weekend

Oh, and BTW, I never fly w/o AS6... Guess using the reverse thrust while on approach CAN help blow away the fog!
