PMDG 737/747 and FsP

I just did my first flight with the 747 with FsP, I used http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/ as flight and used it flightplan, I follwed everything to
and I made a nice flight, my only issue...

After 20 seconds of my descent after T/D, the Autopilot made a dive that made my pax scream in fear lowering my % to 92, and this was only for a few
seconds (because I was cruisign at 15000 as the tutorial said). The same has happened before in the PMDG 737-600, the decent the autopilot do is
rather steep and pax scream, but in the 737-600 I was at FL350 when I started my descent and the pax screamed in fear until they reached like 1%
satisfaction. Is there a way to go around this?

There's bound to be some "veteran" of flying the PMDG 737 and/or the 747, I need some advice, I can't keep my pax screaming in fear every time I make
a flight, I can... but I don't want them to scream in fear... I want them to enjoy the flight...

You can't see the fear screaming thing in the results though, when I landed, played some music the fear faded and the satisfaction went to 98% again

Hey Nasder, I have the same issue with other addons too. At TD i usually set manual the vs at something like -2000 and start descent then. Much
smoother in that case. I don't know if there's another way to solve this, I will check this thread if someone else might come up with another solution

I have just one comment. HOW DID THE PAX COMPLAIN WHEN YOU GOT A 100% RATING AND A PERFECT RESULT?!?! That seems
a bit odd...

Because the dive I did was so small, that the fear percentage raised again as I did exit from the dive, hence the statement I did in the post...

The fear took my pax sattisfaction went to 91% and from there it raised back to 96% after the dive, and up to 98% thanks to music while taxing to
parking ad my destination. hence the perfect score.

If my flightlevel was higher than 15000 feet the fear would have made it drop even more, so if I was at let's say FL350 it would drop the pax sattisfaction to 1% or so...

Watch your descent rates! They should be an average of -1500 to -2500 ft/min in a 737 variant. Any more or less is reserved for "special"
circumstances (like when I forget to initiate the descent at the T/D mark... ). That's the only tip I can give you based on the information
provided. If you provide your descent rate at T/D, and throughout the descent, I might be able to be a little more helpful

Do I need to plan my T/D with my flightplan? If there a good way to do so? I use FSbuild to make my flightplans...

Or is the way mentioned above the only way? I tried that but then I lost controll of the speed and overspeeded like a crazy swede under 10k feet

FS build is a payware, but I like it as I can make flightplans for the PMDG FMC and the GPS for FS2004 in one go, so it exports it in borth pln and
rte files and put them into the the right folders, Really easy to use, I got it only for this feature...

I'm not familiar with fsbuild, but is it possible that fsbuild and PMDG bite each other? Do you enter a flightplan in the FMC of the
737?

I know that the PMDG 737 has an extensive bit of programming behind the flightplan "thingy" (in my opinion) and PMDG calculates it's
own T/D (if a flightplan has been entered). A nice feature I'm messing with at the moment is the forecast in the FMC (press DESC button,
it appears on the left side). If the wind and direction is strong, you actually see the T/D shift along the flightplan. Just to show how far this
stuff gets.

Anyway, just my 2 cents worth, I don't how you combine FSbuild and PMDG flightplanning, but it might be worth looking at .

I use FSNavigator for flight planning, and it automatically calculates T/C and T/D waypoints, as well as any step climb/descent waypoints
that are necessary. Typically, if you're using a modern Boeing FMC you do not need to manually calculate virtually anything! The T/D
waypoint should be automatically calculated based on altitude, airspeed during the descent (varies on what type of descent profile is
selected in the FMC), and MANY other factors. This waypoint will show as a hollow green circle labelled "T/D" in your EHSI.

Here's a bit of real world info that I thought I'd share regarding initiating descents: Typically, ATC likes to clear us to descend prior to the
calculated T/D waypoint. Being the good pilots that we are (here at SWA ), we'll start the descent when they request, however we'll
descend at -1000ft/min (approximately) until we reach the calculated T/D waypoint. At the T/D waypoint, we'll descend via the indications
from the FMC for the ECON PATH DES. Here at SWA we DO NOT use any VNAV or AT modes, so all climbs/descents and speed
adjustments are done manual (that means no autoland either!). The exception to this rule is on approach, when the auto-coupled or
single AP approach mode is authorized for use down to 50' below the MDA. This information might be interesting to some, and
completely useless to others! Just thought I'd share.

Export module for FSNavigator that allows flight plans to be exported to the RTE format used by the PMDG 737NG. The flight plans
can then be loaded into the 737NG Flight Managment Computer

Right, I am around 20 minutes until I reach my T/D to start my descent into Bergen Norway (ENBR)... I'll try to do this manually, I bet it will go to
hell...

Aaaaanyways, FSNavigator, freeware or payware? Worth looking into even if you got your hands on FSbuild?

so now i have my route in fsnav
exported it then imported into the fmc
only thing i cant do is put it into asv, as that wants a .pln file from the default fsplanner :|

Yes sir! I forgot to mention that I use this. It makes long routes a lot easier (long in this text means routes that have multiple waypoints in
between the SID/STAR). I find that on shorter routes I'll hardly use it, but on those longer flights (1000NM +) it really comes in handy. I
still find that I have to manually enter jetways, and things like that, since it uses "direct" for the routing to each waypoint when initially
entered into the FMC.

About FSNav: Actually, I believe one in 10 or 20 users that installs it gets a free copy. Fortunately, I was one of those lucky users! Mine
was completely free!
