FSP + FS 2006 = ???

just wondering

if and when a new flight sim is released, will FSP be compatable with it? (i guess you wont know untill it is released and see how it has
been programmed) Will the be an upgrade patch or something for it? or will you just have to stick with FS2004 to use FSP?

As you told impossible to say unless I can test Fs2006... three case:

1-not much change in the core, update take me one or two month = free upgrade to "FsP2006"
2-a lot of change in the core, update may take me several month (5-6) in this case should I do the upgrade free ?
3-there is so much change into Fs2006 that I would have to rewrite completely FsP... may take 10++ month.

If the case is 1, no problem I'll do it. if it's 2 I bet I'll do it but reworking a stuff that worked already may be very difficult...
for 3 I wonder if I would not better start to write a new stuff completely... (FSP2 ?)

Notice that FsP communicate with Fs2004 in separate function, so the core of FsP don't care
to communicate himself with Fs... I would just need to change the function to have FsP working again.

And last perhaps MS will implement some of the feature of FsP perhaps enough to render FsP obsolet ?
may be also a case were it would be impossible to do the same stuff... the Fs2004 SDK came 5-6 month later
if I recall...

In brief I can't tell anything unless I have the hand on a copy of Fs2006...

i never actually thought about microsoft adding some kind of passenger feature into it themselves.

if it had to be senario number 2, im sure people who already have FSP wouldnt mind paying a small amount to 'upgrade' to a new
version to work with the new FS

scenario 2: half price for previous buyers

scenario 3: full price repurchase and then discount FS9 version 1/3 off the first few months for people not using FS10

And you need to pay anyhow because most likely the newest fs will only run on Windows Vista...

True.... let's focus on living in the PRESENT! I didn't upgrade to FS2004 until at least a year after it was released! Right now FS2004 has
such PERFECT addons, it's really not worth changing to something that supports nothing (this has been discussed ALOT in the past).

I meant "us worrying" as in "the designers of FSP" as in "making a new version for FS10". Make sense? Sorry I wasn't more clear.

I don't even dare to imagine what would be Microsoft passengers when I see what their ATC system actually is in FS9..

I doubt MS would implement a completely new feature. They'll probably just update the same old stuff!

Fortunately, everybody here is very inventive and have many ideas for FsP.
I'm sure that even though MS implements some FsP features, we will come up with a whole new idea.
That's why I'm not worried at all!
