Payware A380: Wait or buy?

There are two Paywares out there for the A380 one from Wilco and one from Abacus.

I think the Wilco is much better then the Abacus version. But is it good enough to buy it?

What do you guys think?

I have the Wilco A380.

My opinion, if you reeeeeally have to have one go with a freeware version that you can find on Simviation.

None of the A380s will be systems specific as little is known about the aircraft. The Wilco isnt much better looking than the freeware
versions Ive seen, and Ive heard negative comments also about the Abacus version.

I recommend waiting a while. Probably a year or so before someone *might* release a decent one

If I were you I'd get the Wilco A380. The model looks quite decent and so does the VC. The Perfect Flgiht A380 just doesn't look right besides I
don't think the weather radar actually works.
But whatever you do, DON'T ever get anything from Abacus. Their planes are subfreeware quality and they even make people pay for that crap.
But honestly I wouldn't spend 25€ for either plane.

Yes, depends on what you want, if you like for example the instruments and mcdu etc fully functional, then both those payware a/c are not for you.
It's a bit teletubby stuff....
The problem is that none of the well known developers seem to dare to create a good airbus. Check all the forums, the demand for one is overwhelming
but it seems to be too difficult within the limitations of fs9 to get the fde and flight envelope protection and joystick behaviour right. I really
believe if there's a company out there which develops a very good airbus, they will be the top seller for years. Untill then, use some freeware planes
and try to fiddle in the pss panels, they come the closest to the real thing of them all

That's a little harsh on Abacus isn't it? Some of their stuff is not bad at all. I have their Choppers (both add-ons) and have to say the
military ones are pretty decent.

I read somewhere recently about Abacus, that they are more entry level "plug n play" easy installs, straightforward flying without the
intricacies of programming systems. And while they are not PMDG, there is nothing wrong with this approach. They dont really fit what I
seek in simming, but I will not say anything negative about them. Many enjoy their aircraft.

I didn't mean to be harsh at all. Just that if you want realism like for example pmdg, then don't expect that from those 380's. And yes, for simmers
who don't care about programming all ins and outs of the mcdu but instead just like to get in and fly, yes, it sure is a nice plane. I'm sure both
Wilco and Abacus are nice companies too but not my choice for the only reason that i like realistic cockpits with fully functional instruments

i got the last 1, the perfect flight 380, its not brilliant but it keeps me content for now, the weather radar dsnt work which blows but hey it'll

Granted, I haven't seen all their products, but what I have seen was simply not worth any money. Even a straight-forward, simple to use aircraft can
have a nice and realistic model. Just look at their Airbuses and you know what I mean.

In that respect I see where you're coming from. It's not complex in any way. I don't know what the Wilco Fleet A380 is like, but it's
supposed to be somewhere between default and complex, ie you can still jump in and fly it fairly easily, but will take longer from a cold
and dark situation than the default airliners.

Well, friends, I've tried hard to find the good 380. And I failed.

Any payware, I've tested, don't have much benefits in comparence with the freeware. The attempts to combine any 380 with the PSS A340 panel fail. I
believe that we should wait for that PSS guys to make a good addon in the traditions and quality of their previously known Airbus series.

Did you also tested the WILCO? because i can't find any Demo version of it.


Also there is no realy good freeware version out there, espacialy no panel.
The a/c from Mike Stone is the best of them i think.

I bought the perfect flight some monthes ago and still bit my fingers....

Just gadget with fabcy virtual passengers cabin but unreadable panel, gears wheels floating in the air poor visual and flight
characteristics...

You want a A380 ? Save your bucks,
go to flightsim.com or any other ans search for Robert Versluys's A380. Nice to fly, to see with her flexing wings and ... frreware.

All I would recommend on this topic is to stay away from the Perfect Flight A380. I don't feel bad about bashing them because its truly
terrible. The panel reminded me of a circus the first time I saw it. It came with my favourite livery (Cathay Pacfic) so I loaded it up and I
see "Cathay Pasific" written on the side of the fuselage! I think that says it all about their quality!

I also foolishly thought the A380 was poor because its not really out yet. (And this was my early days of seriously trying to sim) and I didn't
want a PMDG level plane at that moment. I decided to give them another try, The Md-80! When I load it up and go to spot view the plane is
about the size of 3-4 cessnas!!!

That company is just truly horrible. I would recommend to anyone to stay away from Perfect Flight.

Where are they from anyways?

If you want not too complicated planes that are good quality, I would recommend Aerosim. The customer service is great and are great value. Some of their planes use.... (whats the name....... before the FMC, INS maybe?) its a little harder then using the normal GPS, So their planes are a good stepping stone I think.
