This is how I base my aircraft purchases.

If I have $500,000 Im not going to buy a plane that costs any more than $250,000 because what happens if I have a critical failure or more
than one. Hypothetically the repairs could total more than what I have "in the bank" which would mean either selling off planes or going in
the hole and bankrupt. Sure there is a risk if I have to make extensive repairs of having another fiasco happen before I have enough to fix
it again, but as long as I have enough for the first repair I hope to remain in the black.

I wont buy a plane thats $490,000 just because I have $500,000 in the bank

In addition to my previous question regarding wether the size of the aircrafts in fleet affect the fleet bonus, I think it does as otherwise it
would be the same to have a fleet of Cessnas and a fleet of 747s but if someone knows, please tell.

Just getting started with FSP but here is my 2 cents on the 50 multiplier:

One the one hand I was inclined to disable it. The reason was that I wanted to start a little owner-operator Air Taxi service--a couple of light GA
aircraft ferrying VIPs around the west coast while paying for themselves through prudent flying, pricing, maintenance, etc., and a growing
reputation. Thus I wanted a direct income/expense type arrangement with a fleet bonus. I didn't like the idea that I was an employee of a huge
airline flying 1000s of simultaneous flight each day.

But I can see the need for the multiplier because of the lack of financing. The lack of financing would mean that all my capital was tied up in
assets (like aircraft) and I had no money on hand for operating expenses especially emergencies and major repairs unless I assumed that someone gave
me a huge wad of cash (far more than the costs of the aircraft) to start the business without any concern for when it would turn a profit. However,
the multiplier is pretty arbitrary. So the way I can think about it is that that my little company has a parent company ("sugar daddy") whose
fortunes are tied (exactly as it turns out!) to my fortunes. What is the parent company? A company that owns and operates the FBO's (AVGAS, diners)
and some resorts at various airports including the ones I operate out of. It also sells little action figure dolls depicting the pilots of the my
company--best sellers strangely! :-)

As I said somewhere, once I reach C23 with Keezaire, I am going to start all over. Start with $10,000-20,000, and a 1x modifier, buy a
small plane like a used Piper Tripacer, Cub, or Lycoming. Since I will be flying with FsP for a long time in FS9, I want to see how many
hours it takes me to get to where I can afford a brand new 747 or A380. I wont upgrade my planes UNTIL I have atleast half of the planes
value left over after purchase, i.e if the plane is $500,000 I will not buy it until I have $750,000, that way I cover any failures or problems
(hopefully) I will also set my pax ticket price to very low or low until I can buy a plane that holds more than 100 pax.

I will also save ALL flights except where my pilot dies so good flights or horrible flights, and even crashes where pax are hurt or worse. It
wont really matter with points anyway as I will reach C23 way before I have the funds to purchase a plane worthy of being C23
