Turbulence

I've been noticing that my passengers complain about turbulence every flight, screaming in terror at a perfectly normal, smooth take off and regularly through cruise.

Just now I had this

Extreme weather conditions during approach, but a safe landing with satisfied passengers. (+100)

Coupled with 4 knot variable winds.

Surely this can't be right.

Hello,
There are always nervous flyers on every flight. The only way to create a no turbulence flight is to set FSX for Clear Skys ( no wind ). Even good weather can produce
some turbulence in the real world therefore some passengers do respond to any bounce they feel. You will notice that they get louder with more turbulent conditions.

In the end , if you follow proper procedures and make a good landing, passengers will have a great report at the end of the flight. In real life there are always people you
can never please no matter how smooth the flight is.

I've had this before, and indeed still do quite often. In FSX with default weather, there seems to be like areas of different weather with no
smooth transitions in between. So the winds can suddenly just instantly change speed and direction in an unrealistic way. FSPax seems to
respond to these changes. Keep in mind though you ARE getting bonus points though! So there's a positive side to it.

If you are using FSX default wx without FSUIPC smoothing the drastic changes, I can see why the paxs would be screaming in terror. FSX does not handle
wind smoothing at all. Or, if you use an addon wx generator like Active Sky Next, you won't need FSUIPC module to take care of the winds....unless you
have the turbulence setting at 60% or higher.

I agree, but it seems to me that the all passengers scream, when just few people could do that in light turbolence. On the other side is
perfectly simulated when emergency is announced!!

Point taken and you are correct under normal circumstances, but FSX's default weather isn't normal even with light wind speeds. The sudden and drastic
wind shifts create alot of havoc on the aircraft anyway without FSUIPC or ASN controlling the amount and severity of the shifts and speeds.

I installed FSXWX, which is a free weather engine that uses the free version of FSUIPC, and that has helped a lot. I've noticed the aircraft buck
a lot more with it, but passengers don't seem to notice it as "turbulence" as much unless you are riding a storm front or attempting to land in a
100MPH microburst...
