Since most birds I know also breath oxygen, I'd say over 10K ft You *should* be safe from that, but You still may experience other malfunctions.
On my "flameout" experiences most failures occured shortly after takeoff (less than 5K ft) but they are still to few to build statistics on. Post Edited ( 08-25-05 14:38 )

I like the fact that FSP has birdstrikes in it and you never really know when you will have that emergency
