cant play fsx anymore...

I keep getting an error message saying "A Fatal Error has Occurred. FSX will now restart." and it crashses and restarts automatically after
a few minutes of playing. I was on tech support with Dell and they concluded that the hardware was all worknig correctly, and after many
sessions with Microsoft, they could not figure out the problem either.

I'm thinking fspassengers is the problem now because all other factors are cancelled out so does anybody have any possible solutions?
I already read other forums and tried those but they don't seem to be working. Haven't played in months now and it's really bugging me. I
also have a ton of external hardware for the game (like pedals, yoke, etc.) so i dont know if that would be a problem or not.

What OS are you using? Also various other computer specs would be handy such as graphics card, RAM/DDR2 etc. There is a slim chance that it may be
the external hardware - does the time FSX started crashing coincide with the time you installed the yoke etc?

I have occasionally (twice out of fify or so flights made) had a similar problem which started after I installed my Saitek yoke, rudder pedals and throttles on my XP machine.

Yeah, it's a growing issue that FSPassengers needs to address quickly. I stopped using FSX too, i can't fly and land any more. It quits saying Fatal
Error has occured with no explanation of what it is. Really annoying. I'm not sure why they are not coming up with an update on this....

To see what the problem is or what is causing the problem [for Vista], go to the control panel, then go to Administrative Tools. Open up
Event Viewer and let it load. Once loaded, click on ERROR which is located under the 'Summary of Administrative Events'. Then go to the right of of the page and click on 'View all instances of this event'. Search the list of errors for an application error, click on it and details of that particular error should be give below. It will most likely tell you it was caused by a faulty module called 'uiautomationcore.dll'. This, I think, is causing the problems after an update for Vista which corrupted the file. I am still trying to fix the problem.

I hope thats not all too confusing.

Yes it has, but it is occurring on Windows 7 as well and what actually seems to fix the problem is the Vista UiautomationCore.dll file.

After pain stacking trial and error this evening, and looking on other forums, I think (I hope) I have fixed my fsx. I performed a flight
this evening that was 100% good, no freezes and no fatal errors. I could change the view and right-click as much as I wanted. Landed
successfully and that was that!

So, for me, a Vista update stuffed my UiautomationCore.dll, and instead of making it better it actually made it not compatible with FSX. So
I looked in forums and on my computer for days it has seemed now with no luck. But then I got word (and no doubt a lot of other people
have too), that you can still download the UiautomationCore.dll not updated. So I downloaded it and simply put it into my FSX directory and
my FSX works as if it did before this problem started occurring.

1. So, download the Vista 32bit version of UIAutomationCore.dll from http://tinyurl.com/l49el9.
2. Then open the ZIP folder and copy the file.
3. Paste the file into your Flight Simulator X Directory.

It should be fixed. Nothing else to do. This was for Vista, but I am pretty sure it works the same on Windows 7 as well.

Ok so I extracted that file download into the FSX folder and everything seems to be running ok now. Fingers crossed!

Ok it just crashed again... this is very frustrating and nothing is working so seems like I wont be playing fsx for a long long time.
