Database problem

I had to re-install FSX. I went into the FS Passengers Folder and sent the database file to the desktop. So I uninstalled and then reinstalled FSX.
Then I uninstalled FS Passengers and re installed it. Then I went to my database file on my desktop and it said that the file could not be found. Is
there any way possible at all I can get the database file from anywhere else? I have tried the system restore and that didn't work. Is it just gone
now and I have to start completely over? Help Please..

Sorry for your problem. If you had no other backup of the FsPX database then all of it is lost. I don't know of any other way to recover it.

The system restore (nor the XP home/Vista Home or Premium back-up utility) doesn't include Program Files files - only registry settings, etc. Only XP Pro and relevant Vista editions can do a complete back-up. But again, you would need to run the back-up yourself - it's not automatic.

This is by the way the reason I suggested moving all FsP databases into user's documents folder...

PS: There might be a way to retrieve your database. What I understand, un-installing any software is only a matter of removing the registry records
and deleting relevant files. Any file recovery software should be able to locate removed files for as long as that part of disk has not been
overwritten by other data...

Ok Thanks for all the replies.. When I was in the FS Passengers folder before I uninstalled it, I right clicked the database folder and clicked on
move to desktop. It was only a shortcut to the database file :/ and I didn't know that at the time. So it sucks haha. Gonna have to just start all
over.

Don't worry. I lost my DTB too - falling from c7 back to c0. Currently at c3 but I'm not flying that often now...

I cant remember what I was at, I believe it was the last first officer position. I had around 115 hrs. Yeah usually I can do one long flight and just
let it play all day, and then one later in the evening. Oh well, its just a game. I know you can use helicopters in this game but it wasn't designed
for it, does anyone know something like this that is more designed towards helicopters?

normally I'm known as a grumpy, sarcastic old fart but tonight we are kind (be quiet tracky). Helicopters in FSP are easy, if you know how
to get into the .cfg for your flying machine make sure that your parking brake is enabled even if you choose one with skids.

Yeah I use helicopters in FSP often. Why do you want to enable the parking brake?

You need the parking brake for FSP to register a start and finish of a flight.
