With FsP uninstalled you now have no issues or are you still having problems?

Now, its ok, I dont have this memory problem. But I am waiting for a solution, I want to re use FSP.

Hi ,

I can confirm that I am also getting this problem. It is always as I am approaching destination airport.

If I uninstall FSP X then I do not get any problems.

My system worked fine untill FSP X was installed.

I am using a purchased version and not demo so a fix/workaround would be very much appreciated as I have now had to fully uninstall.

I don't have FSPX or FSX. Nevertheless I do want to share something on this issue. I read a topic on avsim the other day about these famous OOM
errors. It is known that a 32bit operating system can be brouht on his knees when using FSX with too many add-ons. So every add-on on itself does not
have a memory leak of it's own kind. But when brought together these add-ons eat so much RAM, that your 32bit operating system will get in trouble and
let your FSX crash.

Again, I am not using FSX and/or FSPX so I have no experience myself. The only thing I wanted to say that it does not necessarly has to be FSPX or
another add-on creating the crash, but the combination of add-on's.

Ok, here's maybe a solution, from AlanLJ:

Ok, i've come up with what seems to be a solution, at least so far, for me.
Before, with the md-11 done 12 tests departing from Stansted and Heathrow LONDON: 12 out of memory issues in the next hour or minutes.
Now, i've used the Vista equivalent of that /3GB switch you could add back then in XP's boot .ini. Supposedly, it allows to "force" 32bits OS to raise
the 2GB memory usage limit for any task (even if you had more free). From what i've seen, it seems also that it makes management of 4GB memory
different somehow. Before, i was reaching 1,6GB used for FSX wich was giving more than 88+ % of total memory used in task manager. Now, when i reach
this, i get around 72% used.
I've done just one flight but i did for more than 3 hours of gameplay without an OOM. Now, i'll have to see if it's really stable under lots of
flights but at least, it was much longer than i could before

Here's how to do it:
launch cmd.exe and type BCDedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072 and restart Vista
to check after, launch cmd.exe back and simply type BCDedit, you should fine a line saying IncreaseUserVa 3072
to revert back, type bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVa and restart

indeed, it's probably not an FSPX related issue only. One reason why it seems so might be simple:
You launch FSX, use certain payware aircrafts which eats lots of ram and it's already reaching 1,3GB or so. Like most people you add to that one
scenery enhancer like Real Environment Xtreme or Ultimate terrain or the like and bang! you're reaching an already critical amount of approximately
1,6GB. You're already not far on the verge of OOM. Everything's load up and at this moment you choose to start your newly bought FSpX which also
eats up quite an amout of ram and there you go, you ARE constantly flying on the verge of OOM. Reach a more detailed place or suddenly have more
clouds due to a change of real time wheather and here you are: Out of Memory. Whilst you stayed on the verge only before without FSpX ,since you load
it after every addon, it always looks like it's the one to blame. It's only the last addon used that send you off the cliff...

For my solution, I must state of course that it is pointless for users not having 4GB of memory installed...

I actually started having the OOM problem after I loaded Active Sky Advanced. So far the "/3GB" switch post above has solved
my problems.
