FS9 doen´t start anymore after update

Hello all,

after i updated fspassengers with the latest update available FS9 doesn´t start anymore, i receive several messages where all the necessary dll´s in
the module folder can´t be loaded and the startup process from fs9 quits. when i remove or rename the fspassengers.dll FS9 starts normal as usual. I´m
using a legal and registered version of fspassengers and have also updated the LDS 763 with the SP2 at the same time.
I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling fspassengers without any success

Try this since I had the same problem:

Uninstall FS9 and EVERY single addon you have (be sure to backup the FSP database though ) as well as the folder hidden in "\my
documents\application data\microsoft\fs9"

Then install FS9, update it and then try it. Fly around a while. Then install FSP. Repeat test. Now install addons and addon planes. Test. If it
works, good luck. If not...well, try something else

The problem you're having isn't with FSP. It doesn't alter anything that would cause FS to crash on startup. I would recommend removing
the entirety of FS9, and reinstalling everything. Might be a long/drawn out process, but that's what you've got to do. If you fix these issues,
you could always have more issues down the road that cause other problems. Reinstall FS!

I once had this problem too but with another dll causing the crash/startup problems. In that case it was a cfg file of some addon causing the trouble.
The cfg file was corrupted and could not be read anymore (not by notepad, it only showed weird characters). Just before you remove you fs04
installation, just check if the config files of fsp can still be read by Notepad. Sometimes hardware or intervention of other software can cause them
to become corrupted and produce exactly the symptoms you describe

sorry but i couldn´t believe that i have to reinstall the whole flightsim just to get the latest update running. Version 20050902 runs without any
problems. Dependency Walker (software to check the dependencies of programs and dll´s) also says that there are critical errors in fspassengers.dll
and the module imports table can´t be processed. I don´t know much of this but on all other dll´s i checked with dependency walker i never received
such a message.
I tried the following walkaround to help myself:
- uninstalled version 20050905 of FSPassengers, the version that had problems starting FS9 and the latest available
- i installed version 20050902 and unlocked with my key
- saved the fspassengers.dll from version above
- installed the latest update, version 20050905
- replaced the fspassengers.dll from this version with the one i saved before, there seems to be no differences between these two, at least the size
is exactly he same, only when right clicking on the fspassengers.dll from version 20050902 to check the version number, in the opening small window
there is no possibility to check the version number, dont´know why.

This helps me to install the latest update of FSPassengers without any trouble starting FS9. Will report if i have troubles while using FSPassengers
in FS9.

I would recommend a total reinstall. It's a real pain in the ass, but it's well worth it. Cleared up quite a few bugs for me, and got rid of
those old files I no longer use.

My advice would be that your archive for any reason might have some bad files perhaps
OR when installing XP hold some files preventing them to update... (I recall XP love to do that
whe you browse, view some files, launch a program, the explorer.exe hold file and nobody can write
to them anymore)

try this:

1-download the "zipped" latest version of FsPassengers on this site.
2-reboot your computer. (to ensure that this #%ç& XP release all the files)
3-DON'T touch anything (I mean don't launch Fs9, don't browse to folder etc etc)
4-run the FSP installer that is in the zip file.

et voila...
