Seatbelt problems

Dear FsP Team!

In the PMDG 737 there is a seatbelt and a smoking switch. But that is meaningless, because I must ust ctr+shift+b for the seatbelts.
And in the D/L section I cant find any add-ons to fix the problem.
What can I do with that problem?

I sort of solved this problem by changing the PMDG 737 (700)'s panel.cfg file. Under the section "[Window05] //
PMDG_OVERHEAD_PANEL" I added the following line:

gaugeXX=FsPassengers2004!cabinsign, 668,650,29,29

Now the FSP seatbelt switch displays over the original PMDG seatbelt switch.
OK, I admit, it's an ugly sight. But it's functional! Just be sure not to touch the smoking switch anymore because then the original PMDG
seatbelt switch will display over the FSP-version again. Having said that: nowadays most airlines are no smoking so this smoking switch
must be stuck to the no smoking position forever........

Anyone have a better idea?

Hello KLM,

Those button on those panel are fake that aren't connected to anything in Fs9
(there is no existing value "seat belt sign" anyway in Fs9)

So either you must stick with keyboard control for FsP seatbelt OR FsP menu
either you can replace your "fake" seatbelt button by the FsP one that is connected
to FsP. (it need a bit of pannel editing)

here is a doc explaining how to add the belt button to 26 aircrafts, it might help
you to do that with yours:

And once again I would like to mention a little utility called "cfgedit" on AVSIM which lets you do basic panel editing graphically (although it's not
the newest and found in the FS2002 section or FS2000, I don't recall). Works well enough for adding the FSP belt button to your panels in any case.

Be aware that lots of panels that are edited by amatuers, or even professionals for that matter have "fake" bottons - just for show.
You'll have to do it the manual way ~

Remember, it's not all that hard to flip the switch on the PMDG overhead, AND press CTRL-SHIFT-B. Look at it like this: You flip the
seatbelt sign off with the mouse in the PMDG overhead. Then, you press the FSP key to manipulate the seatbelt sign, and this is like
making the appropriate announcement (as pilots, we're encouraged to make a PAX announcement everytime the belt sign is turned on
or off).

Also, I might add that this topic has been discussed a few times in the past. A forum search would turn up results quickly!
