Automatic Service

I read the instructions on the actual game, but I just want to make sure.

If I set cabin service (drinks, hot food, etc.) to automatic, then will they give out hot food depending on if the passengers are hungry?

Normally, I have the FAs serve drinks and sandwiches simultaneously once I reach FL180 with vertical speed 2600 fpm. The only
problem with this is that I do this every flight and most of my flights are 300-500 miles; serving food on that type of flight isn't very realistic.

For example, from SFO-LAX, they wouldn't normally serve food but if I don't, there's a chance my passengers can get upset and get angry
because they are hungry. If I'm descending to my destination, there's no time to serve so they just get extremely mad.

I have cabin service set to automatic and, so long as the flight's more than around 40 min long, the cabin crew always seem to start serving
drinks once the climb's established and, within seconds, hot food as well. (Once the hot food's been served, there's another round of drinks
already at 75%+ served.) So long as I don't accelerate the simulator time during a flight that's less than around an hour, all service is completed
before it's too late.

I usually just do drinks and sandwiches (unless I take the infrequent flight from SFO-PHNL or something). Is there a way to do both at
different times? For example, start drinks then when thats 50% done, start sandwiches? Because whenever I do it, the drinks goes down
to 0% again and they serve both drinks and sandwiches simultaneously

On that note, I think I'm going to try setting it to automatic and see if I like it. I just hate how it doesn't seem very realistic that hot food and
sandwiches are served on such short flights (say my usual SFO-LAX).

Maybe only one percentage is (or can be) shown, so it's the 0% referring to the sandwich service that's just started, while the drinks service continues. (And maybe the "other round of drinks" I mentioned above isn't another round but the percentage of the original drinks service left to finish after the food was served more quickly.) Just a guess. Anyone else?

I have found that in the long run it is better seve manually. If you make your take-off at meal time then your pax won't be hungery for hours.
Hot meals will keep everyone happy for four hours but you only get two of them drinks however are unlimited as far as I can tell.

FSP you get two hot meals, FSPX you get three.
