Float Planes

Has anyone ever thought about making float planes compadible with FSPassengers?

Yes, it's been done before. I believe it's simply a matter of adding a parking brake to your aircraft.cfg

I have about 30 or so planes in my fleet; many of them are bush planes, and about 1/3 are flying boats or floatplanes. I think I actually enjoy
flying floatplanes more than conventional land planes. There are a few important things to remember about floatplanes in FSP.

#1, landing at water airports frequently gets you a "didn't land at destination" penalty. The best way to cope with this is to simply not declare a
destination. Yes, you lose the potential of making 30 or so points, but when you get pilots that have been around as long as mine, its better to not
have so many points anyway. Not declaring a destination gives you all sorts of versatility though, and is more than worth the sacrifice. When
landing on water, you can land anywhere you like, not necessarily at a pre-established water runway. This is more realistic anyway, since that's
kinda the whole point of flying boats/floatplanes.

#2 You do need a parking brake; they're easy to add to any plane that doesn't have one by editing the aircraft.cfg file. When landing, stopping, and
unloading, you need to be sure the plane has completely stopped before putting on the parking brake. This is a bit trickier with floatplanes, but if
you wait an extra minute or so after parking, there shouldn't be a problem.

#3 On landing, its important to keep the nose up (no "dipping" at the point of landing; this can cause a crash), and to use full flaps so as to keep the landing speed nice and slow.

How about that awful noise that supposed to be heard when you run off into the grass? When taxiing on water and taking off without regard to the
"AFCAD" runway - you get that noise...

You should also disable the "rolled off runway penalty" too. I don't know what effect that has on the noise. The noise never bothered me anyway, its
probably more realistic.
