How do I create or obtain chatter files?

I tried a search but how ever many times I click Search nothing happens. So here I am.

I want more chatter.
I looked at the Downloads pages and found some, (but I've also noticed that files are repeated on seemingly all of the 23 pages. What's with that?)

Is it possible to record from LiveATC, for example?
If not where can I get chatter from, and how would I record it?

Edited after downloading more chatter:
One of the chatter sets I have is at a much higher volume than the others: can someone tell what software I should use to re-record (?) them at a lower volume? Is this possible?

To record Live ATC try: http://www.liveatc.net/

Your best bet is to go to the archive section of LiveATC as the streams are in MP3 format there.

Then you simply find an MP3 to WAV slicer/converter, cut up your sound file into small sections and save them in 8bit 11'000hz PCM format.
