Naw, this was a flight yesterday, just reviewing for the checkride. At the end, my instructor was like "I bet I can land it better than you" and I
said "You're on!" He did a nice job, although mine was just as good, lol. But my first thought was, let me get the camera out... He held the nosewheel off for a long time, in fact, the nosewheel is still off the ground when the video ends. That's very hard to do in the Seminole, because it is very nose heavy, especially compared to a 172 or cherokee. Has to do with the T-tail not being in ground effect, which means you need a hefty pull to flare. ![]() ______________________________________ Brandon Jones Western Michigan University College of Aviation Aviation Flight Sciences Major FAA Certified Flight Instructor Cirrus SR20

must have been a blast to fly the Seminole. I'll been flying it( or another twin) in about 4 years.

Oh man I love it! I have almost 30 hours in it and I love every second!

Just a question, when you get your Commercial Licenses, will you go for your ATP or will you get a CFI or what?

I'm going to go for my CFI next, considering you have to be 22 (i think) for the ATP, and I'm only 19. Plus, I need the CFI to build hours, since I am guaranteed a job working for WMU, and it beats the hell out of my $8/hour line job, lol. Quote:Do you know this from the FsP flight report when you ended the flight at the parking Yeah, it pops up on the GPS. Descent rate: - 2000 fpm. Passengers: Pissed LOL ![]() ______________________________________ Brandon Jones Western Michigan University College of Aviation Aviation Flight Sciences Major FAA Certified Flight Instructor Cirrus SR20

lol, they should put fsp on the in flight computers, so the pilots have to deal with simulated passengers as well

Close to touch down that seemd like the sound of the stall warning!
01-06-2006, 07:17 PM
It was the stall warning. Normally, you don't want to hear it on landing in the Seminole, but it is ok to hear it just before touchdown on a soft
field landing (Which is where you hold the plane off as long as possible, and use every bit of lift). And my instructor was showing me that you can do it in this plane, which I didn't believe at first. ![]() ______________________________________ Brandon Jones Western Michigan University College of Aviation Aviation Flight Sciences Major FAA Certified Flight Instructor Cirrus SR20

I loved flying the "Semi-hole" even though it was only for 30 hours. One memorable flight I had was with a new lady CFI who had just
gotten checked out in the aircraft. We decided that each of us would take turns doing engine out procedures. Of course the Seminole is a sleeper when it comes to an engine out, but each time I pulled the power on one engine, the CFI would punch the wrong rudder and bank the aircraft in the wrong direction each time. As I recall, she did do the engine out procedure once ![]() by the ladies out there, I am not saying that just because the CFI was a woman, she inherently can't fly an airplane! I have flown with numerous women, who were superb pilots, and have flown with men who were terrible pilots, but I had to wonder how this lady attained her CFI and ME ratings. Anyway, it's been 10 years since I have flown the "Semi-hole". Thoroughly enjoyed the aricraft! 95% of my flying now is done in the Cessna 172 on steroids....the C208 ![]()
