Good idea because I'm sick of having always 220 passengers in my A330 and 140 in the 757.

It just doesn't feel real to me to leave people behind at the gate. I'd like to see a setting where you could program in some range of
randomness (0-100%) to let us have some play there. Just so you never know what to expect and have to adapt to the conditions. To Dan: Those ideas look great, especially if you include a function to turn them off in case people don't like them. Can't please everyone, as I'm sure you know. But I love them.

Airlines frequently overbook their flights, and if they all turn up they ask for volunteers to take a later flight for some compensation. I think it is realistic to leave passengers behind if you can't take them all. ![]()

Yes, but leaving them behind so you can have different weights... not so like real life.

Monday is by far our busiest day, with the other days being somewhat "normal". Just thought I'd give the heads up on that one!

Generally I would say as a general trend, our busiest loadfactors tend to be on M, Thrs, Fri... with Tues, Wed, Sat, being average, and Sunday more
inbetween (variable)... granted their is always a random variation day by day..... On another side note.. when the names are generated... you will see that Mondays and such being the busiest days will have much less in the way of families traveling and a surge of our business travelers... but the reverse holds true on some of the other days.... if that could be incorporated it would be cool... but i'm sure that programming could be complex and not worthwile.... -Chris

Ok, lost it a bit now, the "importance number" for the several days of the week, we can change that ourselves, right? Because i noticed on some
international flights especially the weekends are busier than the weekdays ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

About the day of the week thing, another, sub-set of that could be time of day or peak times. Split up each day into segments of about 4
hours and assign a value to each. Usually, there's a more in the mid-morning and afternoon than at 0530 and 2100. Then again, it all depends on when the flights are offered. Here's an example: at KBOS (there we go again in Boston - hey I can't help it! It was my home until 9/11! ![]() ![]() Anyway, US Airways runs it's Shuttle back and forth to LGA and DCA every hour. Usually, the early morning flights are low to mid, then increase throughout the morning and afternoon, then taper off in the evening. BA, however, used to have only 2 flights per day to Heathrow. They were around 0600 and 1800. In this case, time mattered little because if you didn't catch one of them, you weren't going across the pond! Now, if BA also added two more flights of comparable size at say, 1000 and 1400, you would surely see a drop in loads on the 0600 flight anyway. Of course, then there's the time difference... ![]() |
