Paul,
Course we're friends. My comments were not meant to deliberately insult you, and I apologise if you saw it to be that way. It was certainly
not a question of me being a wise*** and wanting to make a fool of you as such. My comments were admittedly rash and lacking in
diplomacy, which was my mistake and I apologise for that.
I disagreed with what you were trying to say when you stressed that with firewalls, AV progs, etc. that you are not protected, and yes
indeed, it most probably was a misunderstanding, but I do feel that to a large degree you misinterpreted my response to your post as me
simply trying to make a fool of you, which wasn't the case. It just seemed to me that you made out that there wasn't really much point in
having these programs running on your PC, which I stood to disagree with. Ok, fair enough. I do not dispute the fact that me arguing the
toss about you with PC security is like me telling Brad how to fly a 737. In saying that however, I'm still free to address what you have to
say. If that means the more fool me, then so be it.
Besides that however, I do actually agree with a lot of what you have to say, and for one I think it's a good thing that there are people with
your experience in these matters that post on these forums. It helps a lot of us to learn about the ins and outs of computing, just like in
the way that it's great that we have someone like Brad in here from whom we can learn more about flying.
Furthermore I'm grateful to you that you explained your comments in more depth.
And anyway, we we're never enemies in the first place as far as I'm concerned, were we?!
