Another idea, change the paintjob

Is it possible to add the following:

Let's say I have an ERJ 145 (no 737 Brad, sorry) in my fleet which is painted in BAW colours, but I want it in BMI colours (I fly multiple real
world airliners). Right now I have bought three of these identical aircraft for my fleet, BAW BMI and LOT. It will cost me another 14.000.00
to buy yet another one, so I came up with this idea.

Instead of buying a new plane in the liverie I want is it possible to add a button in the "buy this aircraft" screen which allows you to change
the liverie for an existing aircraft only (at little cost, say 20.000 or something) ? The button could be something like "repaint an existing
aircraft". Basically the old aircraft will be removed from your fleet, but the same, in new colours, will enter your fleet. Ofcourse this can only
be done, when owning the plane you want to paint. I think this would be possible to implement and it adds to the realism.

(I could change the aircraft.cfg, but it doesn't feel good, feels like cheating)

In short: I have an ERJ145 BAW which I want in another liverie. I load the plane with the liverie I want and start the company manager. I
select "buy this plane" and will be presented by several possibilties (used and / or new aircraft). Also, there will be a new button available
(the manager recognize the aircraft as being a model already owned by the company) which allows you to paint the existing plane in the
liverie of the plane currently loaded in FS2004. You could be presented with a choice which plane to paint (if you own more liveries on the
same model, like me) and voila, transaction completed. Old plane gone, new plane added in the colours I want
All this at a fraction of the cost of a new / used airplane.

Another nice thing about this is that the plane will keep its hours and maintenance shedule (and failure %)!

I understand what you're saying. That'd be interesting, however as it is right now you need to purchase the seperate liveries (of the same
aircraft type). This is more realistic, since planes aren't constantly repainted to fly with different liveries. lol. I understand where it would
be benefficial, and I would think the only thing that could be easily done is simply go in and replace the textures of the desired aircraft
each time you want to fly with a different livery. Does this make sense? The name would still show up as what it is defaultly, however the
external textures could change around for you.

It makes sense, but it feels like cheating (and more work for me).
Anyways, it was just a brainstorm and I see it can be done otherwise, but it won't feel the same

I don't see this as cheating, but as painting your plane while in service, or between flights. I do it all the time. I'll buy a plane and if I really
like it, I'll create a new texture file for it in my colours, then edit the config file to reference the new texture file.

Lighttrail, I understand what you're saying, but with cheating I meant the money.
A new paintjob would cost some money, that's why I'd prefer such an option.

Anyways, if not possible I'll be happy to edit the aircraft.cfg and safe me some money
