So it appears this is a known issue with FSP, as I read the other threads about the problem, but was wondering if there has been a fix determined???
When I start FS9 I'm getting about 80 fps (all my settings on max) no matter where I am or what the weather is doing, then as soon as I start a fsp
flight my frames drop to like 22-25, sometimes as low as 19. Is it really the mini-report thing that's making them drop that low??? Because I know
my computer can handle the load -
Intel Core 2 3.0ghz dual core
Nvidia GeForce 8600gts
4gb's Ram

Have you tried not using the mini report? My first pc was quite similar to yours but I had a 2.66 Ghz processor but same card...ram was only 2 G. Yes,
I found that frame rates would suffer with FsP and addon wx engine. Also, I had addon scenery and aircraft,too. That can make a difference. With the
system you have, I figure that you aren't using other addons at all, correct?

No, I wouldn't see a "fix" coming along by the FsP developer because someone's pc doesn't have enough processing power. Sorry, but that's the problem

So today I started a flight in New York (thinking that was some graphic intense scenery) with real world weather (was a light rainstorm with high
winds), and used an ad-on 737 that has a very detailed paint and model. Sitting still was hitting 82fps. Started FSP flight, frames dropped to 26.
Taxi'd and took off while monitoring fps, they hovered between 24 and 27. During the climb I turned the mini-report off, and SHWING! FPS right back
up to 80 fps. Turn mini report on, down to 25.

That freaking little blue box sucks 50fps????? Ridiculous.

OK, that is surprising, though not as surprising as getting 80 fps under any conditions. Even over detailed airports?

I only make detailed ADE/AFCAD files, adding buildings and extra parkings. I also use world of AI, and is usually 30-40fps.
In the air, usually 60fps. when I got FSP the fps is fine while using FSP, but when not using FSP, fps goes down to 15-20fps, and opening
munu bar and kneeboard takes 5 seconds...

I enjoy World of AI traffic too -- but I assume that's what slows things down when I'm near major airports, e.g. London Heathrow and Gatwick. I
suppose I should look elsewhere for information, but, for now, any advice on how many traffic packages to have or any tweaks I might try?

AI traffic always causes a hit on frame rates and resources....depending on what percentage of AI are being used of course. At larger
airports like EGLL, 30% AI could cause a big hit on many PCs out there. The only tweaking I would know how to do is reduce the
percentage or take it to zero for large airports....especially if I know that the sim is going to be a slide show on arrival.

I reckoned AI traffic was the biggest single factor -- I had it on 33%, but it's now 25%. All I need to do now is fly to (or past) EGLL or the like
and see if it's more like a movie than a fast slideshow.

I can forget about using even 20% AI around Aerosoft's EGLL....sucks the life out of frames BIG time.
