Fly Tampa - KBOS - FSPassengers X issue

Hello again,
Just wondering if there is a fix for my issue (other than uninstalling and not using it). I just installed Fly Tampa's KBOS for FSX (mainly so
I can use AES). So far any runway I take off from says I am leaving the runway, rolling off of the apron type thing.

I have reinstalled it but same problem. Is there something else I should be doing? Some sort of duplicate bgl issue?

I read the FAQ and did a scan for my issue in the forum but although I have seen the question asked, I have not seen a solution, thanks.

this sounds like a scenery problem. you would probly get better results by useing Flytampas support

not shure how they do there scenery, but it sounds like they have a APRON on the runway. altho im not certian as some of my scenery is
like that, but i never have a problem with it

I don't know if ScanAFD would work for FSX to see if there are duplicate AFCADS at work here. Or, you could search through the scenery
folder to see if there may be 2. If so, rename one of them.

This is the reply I got from the site admin over at Fly Tampa:

it may be reading the stock afcad & not the Fly BostonV3 afcad. Bos V3 has added new taxiways, new taxiway intersections & even a
new runway. These aren't in the stock Microsoft version. The real airport only recently opened them. Check to see if fs passengers has
some kind of library update where it rebuilds the fs database. Otherwise it will think you are taxing on the grass in certain areas.

I asked him a couple other questions on his airports that I'm waiting for answers to but maybe this helps better to get an answer to what
FSP is looking at. I can't imagine it would look at the default files if I have scenery in the fsx\addon\scenery folder, but afcads aren't my
better topic of understanding.

You sometimes need to set priority of the add-on AFCAD over that of the default so that FS only reads the add-on.

Any chance you can give an example? If you mean set priority in the scenery library, than it is set to the very top. Other than setting priority
that way it would be nice to bother you to possibly add a couple words to the above to maybe make sense out of it...

No, I do not mean setting priority in the scenery library. In the scenery library I have an option to check or uncheck for each add-on scenery and
default; checking the option means that FSX will read the file, unchecking means that it won't read the file.

If it's not the scenery library that you mean, then WHAT do you mean? Sorry for the caps but would like to know what it is that you are
talking about. Perhaps you could explain in one post rather than going back and forth beggin you to spit it all out?

You say set priority, then No, not in the scenery library, then you go on to explain how to do it in the scenery library.... If you know how,
perhaps you can share your information with the less knowing?

Also to note, if you mean to do this by unchecking the box that says "Default Scenery" than that's obviously no solution since I would then
disable everything default in fsx.

Please re-read my previous post; in it you will find that I say that it is not setting the priority in the scenery library but that you need to
check or uncheck a box next to the relevant scenery to make FSX read it or not.

Thanks, but like I said in my original reply, I set it to top of the tree, so if the scenery library is working the way it should, nothing below it for
the same files should be being seen. If that is not the case, then too bad FSX doesn't have a Default KBOS option for me to uncheck. If
you actually know what I am suppose to uncheck in this case why not state it. Or are you saying in general if there was an actual choice,
which there appears not to be in this case.

I cannot make it any clearer than I have already stated: there should be a check-box next to each scenery listed in the library which enables FSX to
either read the file or not; if you don't have a check-box, then I don't know. Setting the scenery at the top of the priority list only makes it the
first to be read out of all the options possible.

Your last option is to re-name the default KBOS scenery files or remove them altogether.

Well I too cannot make it any clearer for you since you seem to fail to see that I am obviously saying I have in top priority in the scenery
library, and it is checked meaning it has a little check mark in the little box next to the new KBOS scenery (incase this is what you think you
have made clear). You then went on to say "that you need to check or uncheck a box next to the relevant scenery to make FSX read it or
not" Ok, I also answer to this to say I can't see anything to uncheck for KBOS, so do you happen to know what I would uncheck for just
the default KBOS like I have asked??? If not, then to reply to your latest bit of info, do you know where the default KBOS afcad would be?

I don't mean to come across un appreciative, but I get annoyed when someone trys to help with one word at a time. I also moderate for
several forums and wiki's at work and always try to give my answer very thoroughly not just for the first person asking, but for the ones that
come in after them. What's the purpose of searching a forum when there isn't any knowledable data collected?

So if you have the time, pretend I know nothing about FS in general. A forum is suppose to be a knowledge base that others may find
answers they need. Going by what we have so far, they will most likely have to re-ask the question I have. I know you said you cannot
make it any clearer but going off your first answer below, I think you can. It was your first 3 answers that now have me more confused than
I think I was,,, I think...

It does not always matter if the scenery is set to a higher priority within the scenery library, what matters is whether FSX is able to read it, or
allowed to read it. Perhaps I am going about this in a 'one word at a time' style because I am having to go through the steps myself within FSX in
order to help you (which at this point on only 2 hours sleep in the last 72 hours I probably shouldn't be helping). If you don't like that, then
that's fine.

The KBOS AFCAd/BGL file should be under 'world' in the FSX Scenery directory.
