Problem with my joystick

Hello,

Thanks for all the work with FSP for FSX. I truly enjoy the work and enjoy flying.

I have a little issue with my joystick. I'm using the Saitek X52 Pro and I created a profile for the Cessna 172 up to that no problem. But
every time I start a flight with FSPx some of my key stop working.

The most annoying is my trim: I have it programmed on the throttle wheel and it's working without issue on any flight except FSPx flights.
When I start one the programming of the NUM 7 works but I loose NUM 1, It just doesn't work on the joystick and I have to do it on the
keyboard.
I also programmed some keys for turning up or down the magnetos but with a FSPx flight I hear a "Decision" sound every time I press the
appropriate button on my joystick but the magneto doesn't move. That is a problem when I'm doing a run-up.

I also notice that if I press the B key on my keyboard I hear "altimeter" but the altimeter is not set a the correct pressure. Something similar
when I'm trying to correct the HSI with the compas. For those two too, I guess it may be wanted for more realism.

Do you have any idea on how to solve my joystick problems because it is linked to FSPx since it's not working only in those flight and once
the flight is over everything is working as it should again.

My config is simple Vista Home premium, 32 / Adobe acrobat / FSX acceleration and FSPx nothing else (no antivirus or anything)

Sorry if you already answered that kind of questions but I couldn't find the solution to the problem.

* ok, I just saw some answers in the FAQ but how can I get the trim and the magneto working with my joystick despite the shortcuts.

Reassign all the keys on your joystick within FSX, but don't save them as a profile. Also remove the FSX keyboard functions from things like
magnetos, that will stop FSPx from chaning the decision height opposed to the magnetos, etc.

The altimeter will be set to the correct pressure at the point you're flying through when you hit it, and to 29.92 mm Hg above transition altitude,
which in FSX is default to FL180. With the HSI compass, check your gyro drift setting in the 'realism' options of FSX.

FSX doesn't recognise rotary switches, which is what the wheels are, for some weird reason; FS9 did, but FSX doesn't. There isn't much you can do about that apart from reasign what you have on the rotaries to buttons on the joystick. I use the Saitek X45.

Thanks a lot for the explanation. I will try to rework things with my joystick to make it work like I need to.

Is there a way to deactive the various key commands in FsPx though so that I could use my profile like in a normal FSX free flight.

Yes, there is a way to reassign FSPX key assignments, I just can't remember what it is as I had practtcally already reasigned all the FSX keys to
different spots before I bought FSPX.

Thank you again for the answers. I was able to change the magneto config and I had to reassign the trim to two button instead of the
wheel. But I did a flight last night and it went very well.
