[Solved] -350 points for redirecting due to bad weather

I was flying the DC-3 from EGQL to EGPB, but after several attempts to land I was just luck yto still be alive. Wind was at
26kt but it was
also very variable and had to divert to another airport. So I chose the closest one EGET, which I managed to land on without
much
problems.

Problem is that I got a -350 penalty for not landing on the correct airport; am I suppose to kill everyone? I agree the
passengers would not
be very happy and would rate me very bad, but I can't see I failed as a pilot.

BTW let me add that FSP(X) is the best ever to happen in the flying sim world

You could have cancelled the destination and you would have been fine I've not had to do this but it's an option...

You're right, didn't think about that one. I guess as I was told I didn't land on the correct airport and I didn't declare an emergency, I was
thrown a tad off from the real solution.

I'm sorry you feel this way. The matter of fact is that FSP doesnt recognized the bad weather, the reasoning behind is pretty simple. Say FSP has
10,000 lines of text, to make it recognize weather would take another 15,000 lines. Taken that you divert due to weather every once in a 1,000 flight
or so would you say it is warranted to add those 15,000 lines of programming and spend 1,5 years on something that is a feature to a very selected group?
You could cancel your destination in FSP and land elsewhere, will only cost a few points, not cancel it and divert anyway and take the full penalty or
continue on to destination despite the bad weather and be in for a challenge you've never encountered before?

That's exactly what us pilots have to think about each and every minute we're working a flight. Not mentioning the BoozeCrew (of which Im also
President unfortunately) that just lands at scheduled destinated against all odds......

Think you misunderstood me Tracker. I apprechiated Joes reply, and said I hadn't thought of that. Problem solved.

I wouldn't have thought FSP did recognize weather either. Learned the quite quickly when I ever so often get penalties for performing
dangerous manouvers, when it's actually the wind that's doing all of it. Nor problem there though, I guess I should've predicted bad
weather from the weather cast, or radar (non present in the DC-3)
