Sound gibberish

Ok Im having a bit of a problem when I fly with FSP. Randomly (normally when I change views to external), this sound gibberish / noise
starts and its really annoying. It randomly goes away too, I havent been able to pinpoint what do I do to make it go away but eventually it
does.
This only happens with FSP. As soon as I cancel the flight, the thing goes away.
Is there anything thats been known to fix this, or does anyone have any idea?

Running FS9 on XP.

Does the weird sound happen while using a particular aircraft or does it happen any time you start FsP? Do you also use AES?

Different aircraft, it sounds like when you're loosing reception on your car radio...
Im not familiar with what AES means so I guess I dont use it, hehe ^^

It could be a number of things including your onboard sound or if you are using a sound card separately? Sometimes those cranky sound
device drivers may need updating. Never know!

I have a sound blaster card I took from an older computer I have laying around here.. But what is weird is that it only does it when FSP is
open.
Does it use any kind of sound .dll or something different?

Well, like I said, it would likely benefit you to see if the sound card's drivers need to be updated. I have not heard of FsP messing up the
sound....unless of course you have added a sound package to FsP that may be corrupt in some way.

I dont know.. There arent "new" drivers for this card, its a soundblaster live and Creative has already pronounced it as a dead product (no
more support) so I downloaded the latest drivers and installed them
Havent tested it yet, Ill let you know..

I DONT think this made any difference, Im inclined to belive it had happened before this, but I installed the Adobe AI package... Still I really
belive it started doing it before.

Well, if all else fails, try uninstalling and then re-installing FsP(of course make a back-up of your database folder). If that doesn't work,
possibly try a system restore to previous date that you know the sound was working properly?

The database folder is where my airline info is stored right?
Ill try a reinstall this weekend and see how it goes, thanks so much for your help.. =)

If you look in the FS Passengers folder within FS9, you will find the database folder. This is where your company information is stored
(flights.etc).

I got the same problem with my onboard soundcard aswell. What worked was press Q then press it again to turn the sound back on and
it will go away. Until next time it happens

I tried disabling the sound pressing Q.. Didnt help
Also its a normal soundcard, not on board... Its kinda weird.
I must think I installed some kinda addon that conflicts with FSP.

im am no expert i admit, maybe you could try fixing it with changing the sound volumes in fsp setup, maybe you could pinpoint the
problem.... try adjusting the "engine effect"
