FS9 windows XP Black Screen

Having the black screen problem in XP have a Pcore2Duo e 6600 x2, 8800ultra, 4gb of ram. and im running FS on 1680x1080 res. any
suggestions??

Actually, I am not sure if the search function will reveal there is finally a fix. Download the 174.74 Beta drivers with the latest Beta version of
NHancer and then see this link:

Sorry, but what is this solution then? This nhancer fix exists already a long time, so do the 174.74 drivers
NHancer makes it possible again to force AA to the game. A black screen is still possible with the wrong AA settings

NHancer has never fixed this issue before so I am not sure what the NHancer fix is that you are talking about? The black screen issue has been an
issue with all higher AA settings until 174.74 AND the latest Beta of Nhancer... Forcing AA has nothing to do with a fix for the black screen and has
never fixed it, in fact forcing AA is what broke it...

I can now run 8xs/16Fand have no issues with A/C display, FSP or any other windows. This is the first combination to my knowledge that actually
"fixes" the issue.

Ah, I see what you mean now The "black screen" is often referred to by people seeing their screen go partly black when opening an overlay image (like
the mini report, or SB3). It was (is) solved by adjusting the AA settings. A complete black screen (sometimes for a minute and then the menu's
suddenly show up) is in fact a different problem again but also related to the drivers.

Luckily I have not experienced the black screen overlay while using 16x AA with my 8800GT card, but I do get an occassional nv4 display
error and a total screen freeze with 174.74, 174.70, 174.93 drivers. Usually reboot and start all over again and not have the problem again
for a day or so. Of course I'm not using Vista but XP Oh, well....
